Cheery news for a change!

I know I haven't been posting much and when I do, I gripe an awful lot (which is why I don't post so much! LOL) Today, however, I have some great news! I stepped on the scale this morning and I (FINALLY!) saw a double digit number! 99.9 to be exact. Don't freak out, I'm talking kilos!! LOL
After a looooong 2 months of trying to break the up and down see-saw stall, I can finally boast of having broken that 100 kg midpoint I had placed as one of my major goals.
Stats: 30kg (66lbs) lost. 30 kg to go, time taken: 7 full months.
OK, I'm not a fast loser, but considering my surgeon gave me hopes of losing only 20kg from this surgery, I'm ecstatic!
Will I lose the entire 100%? Who  knows? All I know is that I will keep trying!
Oh, by the way, I had promised that I'd throw a party if I ever broke that 100kg mark. It certainly can't have food and I'm really at a loss how to celebrate. Any suggestions?

wooooooooo hooooooooo... great job Amalia! Told you that you'd show that surgeon of yours! yeeeehaaaa!!! I knew you could do it!

Hmmm how to celebrate.. Buy yourself a special gift or take a day trip to do something fun and special for yourself? Maybe go to the day spa? (Something I would like to do someday). Buy a new outfit and matching earrings and necklace?

So happy for you and the awesome progress you are making. Its ok to be a slow loser... You are doing it! That is what counts the most!

Big hugs!!!!!

Yea!!!!! I am so pleased for you.  what a great accomplishment.  I like the day spa idea, nothing like a good massage to make you feel rejuvenated.  I know the have lots in Italy, so I am sure they are also in Greece.  Congrats friend.  Cecelia

Hi, congratulations that's great. I'm with Cecilia and would treat yourself to a massage or facial, a manicure or pedicure - or a new handbag, piece of jewellery or all of the above ! Something that you will truly enjoy. Let us know what you choose. Regards Debbie

Thank you all for your encouragement and your suggestions. I have decided what my "reward" will be! About a year ago I had bought a very special gem. A red emerald to be exact, also known as red beryl or bixbite. I've been waiting for a special opportunity to have it set into jewelry and perhaps this is it. Since it is a very rare stone, it deserves a great setting and a few diamond sprinkles. I decided to have it set into a pendant now or as soon as I can scrape up the money for it. It will be a life-long memento of my struggle and a great reminder that I never want to get back to my previous weight!
