16lbs down in two weeks!

I have not had the surgery yet.  I just started the whole thing.  But 16lbs in two weeks is pretty cool!  Last week, I lost 7.8lbs through diet and exercise and truthfully it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.  I did more exercise, we have a pool, so I actually swam laps.  I did one way under water all the way (Well, it's a big pool, so stopped halfway, came up for air, then back under) then swam the breast stroke back.  it was fun.  I swear, that was my biggest calorie burner of all.  Cause that was the week I had the biggest loss since I started this.  And my food intake was decent.

But this past week, totally different story.  And I know I will gain at least half of it back this week, but I had the stomach bug and lost a little over 8lbs from that too!  LOL!!  So I guess that's a bit of a cheat!  I know that at least half of that amount is water weight.  But I'm going to try to see if I can keep half of that off and down.  I've been drinking tons of water the last day or two, but today, is the first day that I actually ate a meal since Sunday.

Anyway - at least for now i can say I lost 16lbs in 2 weeks!  LOL!!

Woooooooooooo Hoooooooooooo Jen! great job!
So sorry about the stomach bug biting you. I hope you recouperate quickly from whats left of it. Just keep with what you have been doing. Drink lots and lotsof water, and you may be suprised at how much of that stays off of you.

I can't remember if you have a date for surgery or not???
Keep up the wonderful work! Ahhh wish i had a pool. We talked about putting one in... just afraid to invest that much money right now. We may decide to go ahead with it yet. Just gotta check it all out and really consider it deeper.

Great to hear from you!

Thanks!  I'm going to be very concious about trying to take what's been given to me and trying not to gain any of that back!

I would totally tell ya to invest in the pool.  We have no regrets at all.  We put a heater on it, so we actually open it in April and keep it open thru November, unless it gets too cold too fast, then close it near the end of October.

Oh and no surgery date yet.  Still meeting with the nutritionist, surgeon, all that good stuff.  Hope to have a date by January...  My Dr said it usually takes about 6 months to do all the requirements and get a date.

We keep talking it over.. I decide yes... then decide no.. cannot seem to make up my mind. I think my biggest concern is maintaining it... Another "job" and I already have so much to do.

I think we are leaning strongly to yes. BUT it is going to be expensive, as we have decided if we are going to go through the expense of having a pool put in, we want it usable all year long, so we will be having it enclosed, should we firmly decide to do this. I really do want to get one.. just worry about the maintaining it cost and time wise. The good thing tho, with having it enclosed, it will definately increase our property value.

Best of luck as you go through this process. So far you are doing awesome! keep up the great work! And yeah.. it took me 8 months from start to finsh to get through all the hoops and have my surgery.

Sixteen pounds in two weeks is awsome, doing all that you can to reduce your weight before surgery will make the whole process so much easier for both you and your surgeon.  I am thrilled that you are getting into routine exercise.  This is a habit that will greatly help you get to and maintain you goal of a healthy weight.  Too bad about the stomach bug.

I wish I had a pool, not practical for me, no space in the yard.  I could get a membership to the local Y.  Time to investigate the possibility for me.  I did go to the Y last weekend for some water walking.  Too bad the hours of open pool time are during my sleeping time.

Have a great weekend, hard to belive that another week is wrapping up.  Where did the summer go?  Hugs
