So, TOM is back an raising just as much hell as before.  I am trying to keep my mind on the prize but am getting worried about this issue.

"Heavy flow" are not the right words to use in my situation.  I thought I should have passed out by now.  The doc just says that my hormones are all out of wack from losing weight but hell, I've only lost 30 lbs!  She tells me I will put you on Depo to stop the bleeding and want you to take lab work tomorrow.  Well, the damn shot lasts for 3 months and remains in your system for up to a year.  My thing is that I told her that I am still trying to lose weight to have RNY surgery.  I am so afraid that this shot is gonna cause me to put all that weight back on.  I want to keep my mind level so that I can achieve my goal.  Pray for me everyone because if I put this 30 pounds back on I don't know what I am going to do.

My plan is to eat better and keep with physical activity.  I think the most important right now is the activity.

In a way I am sad but in another it kinda makes me want to try harder since I now have something that has been placed in front of me to keep me down....darn devil!  I can do this though.

I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers Gigi.  I hope that with less bleeding, you will have the energy to increase the exercise.  Keep your thoughts positive as you face this challenge of losing weight before surgery.  I want to be your sounding block, come post any time, I will reply when I can.  We will get through this together.  That is what support is all about.

Each challenge that is placed before us is just another of the "hoops" that we must leap through to get what we want out of life.  Live each day for the day.  Grasp what you can do today.  Tomorrow will appear when it is time and that challenge can wait till tomorrow.  Set up your resolve to keep plugging away at this task one hour, minute, moment at a time.  Seize the day.  Hugs

Big Hugs gigi. I will keep you in my thoughts as you deal with this. Chin up, it will get better. I have had similar issues in the past and I am so sorry you are having to go through this. I am not familiar with the Depo shot, but I hope it helps you.

Keep you doctor informed of any adverse side effects, or if the new medication doesn't help. So often they take a "one size fits all" approach to medication. There are many alternatives, and it may take some trial and error.

I wish I could do more than just offer some positive words.

Kathy...thank you for your great support!! You are so very kind. You and Patrece really have made this group and discussion board seem like a "safe place" for me. Thank you for everything you do!!!

Erin.. Thank you for the kind words to Kathy and I. It means a lot to know we are truly making a difference in the lives we touch. And you betcha.. this is absolutely a group that was started with the intention of all members knowing it is a very safe place, where you can reach out about anythingggggg and not be judged, criticized or put down. This journey is NOT an easy one, and positive and uplifting support is an essential part of ongoing success in it.

Thank YOU for being an active part of this group! I am sooooo glad you are here.

Gigi.. You may find that with TOM out of the way, you won't have the excess water weight to deal with that you have been having. We always gain a few with TOM. Maybe this will actually give you a chance to get your energy restored, lose tha****er weight and really have the ability to embrace this as you want and hope to.

If you notice an increased appetite, fill it with high fiber veggies that will contain very little calories, yet fill you up due to the fiber content. You could even take some greek yogurt (which is very high in protein) and mix in a ranch seasoning packet for a nice high protein veggie dip, to be used in moderation.

Here's the thing I see with you Gigi. You NEVER give up! even when you have your little or big setbacks, you get right back to business. This is an awesome display of a very strong, determined and comitted woman! When I think of all you have worked through and overcome Gigi... I haven't a doubt in my mind that you are going to be a success! We all have our setbacks and struggles. But those of us, like you who rise to the challenge, are remarkable people! Keep up the awesome work!
Hugs to you! And remember.. we are always here for your support, encouragement, or a gentle kick in the behind if thats what you need from us..lol
