Bariatric Buddy
Hola, I'm new!
My name is Kaitlin and I'm twenty one years old. I actually am pretty much finished with the majority of the tasks that were asked of me. I only have one appointment left and then my progress goes up for "case study". So, fingers crossed.
I started this process in 2009 after a year long battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma (lymph node cancer). Luckily I can say that I'm in remission and doing wonderful :)! My oncologist strongly recommended that I take a look into WLS. Normally, she wouldn't be so quick to point me in that direction but the fact is - the more over weight you are, the higher the chance is that you'll get it back in the future. I realized quite fast that life is too short.
I also began raising my great niece in Jan, 2010. She's two years old and she's my world. I want to make sure I'm here long enough to finish all the things I want to do and provide her with a life that she deserves.
I'm 5"7 and my highest weight was 335lbs. After weighing myself today, I'm finally under 300lbs. Not by a large amount (298.9 ) but still. I've come along way.
My surgeon introduced me to this site and let me know that there are a lot of great people on here. That I'll meet quite a few of people, learn some things and hopefully create another whole support system.
So hello all and I look forward talking to each and every one of you!

Hi Kaitlin,
I'm new here too - it hasn't been a week since I've found this site and already I've been welcomed so kindly.
So, i am also pre-op and right around you weight-wise. But you, having overcome other health issues, serious health issues, you are an inspiration!
I wish you the best of luck and hope we continue this positive journey together.
Take care,
Jeannie
