Home and recovering...

Glad to hear you are home and resting.  I had a total hysterectomy 2 years ago, as an open procedure, and found that if I placed a small pillow under my tummy and a large one between my legs then I could sleep on my side all night - it takes a bit of jiggling to get comfortable.

The swelly belly seemed to take a long time to go down - it would get smaller over night and then I'd swell again by the end of the day - particularly if I'd done too much.

Don't forget not to lift anything too heavy as it will delay your recovery.

Take Care
Debbie

The heaviest thing I lift is my grandson who is not quite 8 lbs. My surgeon said no more than 10 lbs, so he is within the limits, although I usually hold him while sitting, so I strain less while holding him.
I am the same, the belly is down more in the morning, and I look pregnant by bedtime, even tho I rest throughout the day.
I am down to 157 this morning. Was 169 after I was released from the hospitl.. that was 15 lbs gained! But 4 more lbs and I'll be back to my 153 I started at before the surgery.

Patrece,

I've been away from the group for far too long and am just now reading about your surgery.  I'm glad you are coming through it and not having too much trouble.   I will keep you in my prayers while you heal.

I figured I'd jump on and see if you'd reported in yet.  Glad it has gone so well for you.  Sounds like a much easier recovery than the 12 staples I had after mine!

Keep getting your rest and let the body do its recovery.  You know all of this.  We're all thinking of you and sending happy thoughts and get well wishes your way.  Take care!
