Happy in Spite of Stall
I've lost 21 pounds total! I will be 3 weeks post - op on Monday and my weight loss has been stalled since 9 days post-op. Has anyone else had a stall this soon after surgery? Aunt Martha is due in the next couple of days and I retain water so I'm thinking that maybe this has contributed to the loss not showing up. It is hard not to think that I may be the one person that this won't work for, but I know that logically I will lose weight if I'm taking in much less than I'm burning. I'm still working on making sure I get my exercise in every day and am upping the intensity a notch. I'm also trying to get all of my vitamins and protein in each day. The surgery part seems to be the easiest part of this journey so far. The lifestyle changes and eating habits are even harder, but it does seem to get a touch easier every day.
The great news is that I wore a pair of capris this week that I haven't worn in a year or so. I was really excited when I looked at the size - 18! I've gone from a size 22 to and 18! Yay me! So, apparently inches are coming off in spite of what the scales say. I love my RNY!
I'll be going on vacation to CO in about a week and can't wait! I don't think there is a prettier place to get out and enjoy the scenery while walking. And the climate isn't bad either! I'll probably never move from Texas, but if I do it will be to CO!
Everyone have a great weekend!
Do not dispair over the stall, I went through that too. Your body is going through adjustments and things will start to move again soon. Congrats on getting into smaller sizes. It is great to see the changes in clothing and ability to move about. You are still early out from surgery. Do your best to get in the protein, fluids and supplements. Frequent small walks are in order. Enjoy your weekend too. Hugs

I hit my first stall out at 11 days post op and was stuck there for 2.5 weeks. Don't worry.. this too shall pass. As Kathy said, the body needs time to catch up with all of the changes. Often when the scale is not moving the inches are still shedding. Just be sure to get in all of your water, protein, supplements, activity. Soon the scale will move down down down again!

Lost 114 lbs. working on getting rid of a recent 10 lb regain...and WILL succeed!
I will be in Estes Park at a ranch otherwise I'd love to meet with you. Do you live in Pueblo?
Thanks for sharing your experience with the stall. My husband keeps assuring me that it will come off. He can't believe that it wouldn't when I'm eating so much fewer calories than I'm burning. I'm still trying to get all of my fluids, protein, vitas in on the same day. Hopefully it will all come together soon. Take care!
