Baby Braxten has Jaundice bad.. Had to be hospitalized

The good news is he will be fine in a day or two. Candice was heartbroken and wondering what she did wrong, poor girl. I explained to her that it is nothing she did. High biliruban is fairly comon, and it just happens. She is able to be with him / room in at the hospital with him, so she is not taking it quite as hard now. He's under the lights and will soon have an IV in place.

Awwwww poor Candice and Braxten. Bless his heart. I had a grand daughter that this happened to also and she had to return to the hospital and be hospitalized. I know it is real scary for these new moms but like you said it really is quite common. We tried the blanket thing at home but it didn't work so she had to be hospitalized for if i remember right three days. I know Candice has to feel better being able to stay with him. My niece and I both stayed with her baby. Will say a prayer for the little guy. Hugs.

Yeah... I would have stayed with them, but I am still wiped out from this very hectic week, and not up to par myself.. Went with them, got them settled in, then came home to feed hubby and rest a bit. Will be going back up tomorrow AM.

Will pass along the hugs in the morning when I go to see them. Paul was reallyyyyy scared at first, but when he realized I wasn't too whipped up over it, he realized all would be okay.

Today is a rough day for Paul as it marks 3 years since his accident.

Thanks Kathy! 3 years ago I was devastated, scared to death, but brought nothing but positive vibes to his hospital bedside. Sometimes I think his accident has shown me that I am so much stronger than I ever thought possible. Would have liked to have found out in a better way tho.. Thank you

Thanks Amalia! Today the doc said he will be able to go home either Sunday or possibly monday. His bili count has gone from 21 to 17 as of this morning. They said once it hits 12 or below he can go home.
