11 lbs. lost!

I went to the doctor yesterday to have my drain removed.  I have officially lost 11 lbs since surgery and 19 lbs total.  My husband and son can already see differences in my face, neck, side silhouette and ankles/legs.  I'm so excited!

I've been nauseas on and off and I told my doc about it.  I got chewed on a little by the doc for not getting in my protein.  I explained to her all that I've tried and that they all make me gag.  The nurse suggested Isopure drinks that can be bought at the Vitamin Shoppe or GNC.  She said they are delicious and she drinks one everyday.  So we found some at the Vitamin Shoppe and bought just one to try from their cooler.  Bingo!  I can handle it.  It is $42 for 12 20 oz. drinks.  But they have a lot of flavors and each bottle has 40 grams of protein!  Needless to say I bought a case and I'm very happy now.  My energy level deflates quickly and I think getting my protein in will help.  Right now I'm still not hungry and my typical day includes maybel 3 oz. of broth and maybe a sf pudding so hopefully the protein will help.  I did try scrambled eggs last night with a little bit of cheese and pureed ham.  I got the recipe out of a cookbook for wls surgery patients.  It was heavenly and I had no problems at all.

I got released to exercise by walking, biking or elliptical.  So, last night I went to the track and my goal was to walk a lap.  I walked 6 laps!  Granted it was slow for me.  I walked with my mother and father in law and they go slower so it was a good thing.  They worried about me the whole time but I did great and feel great this morning.  Next Monday, which will be 2 weeks post op, my doc wants me to start pushing the exercise.

So......I'm feeling much better about this life changing decision that I've made.  The great thing is that I have the best husband who is determined to adapt his lifestyle to help me be successful.  He is overweight as well, but he is always so successful with Weigh****chers.  He has lost 25 pounds in three weeks!  However I still have him beat with lbs lost per week with my first week!  This has never happened before so I'm very hopeful.

Have a great holiday weekend and thanks to everyone for sharing with me!

I am soooo happy for you! You sound like you are feeling and doing so much better. Congrats on the weight loss!!!!!!!!
As far as the protein you are using, keep in mind to split it up a bit throughout the day. our bodies cannot absorb 40 grams of protein in one sitting, so slplit it into 2 or 3 servings.
I am happy to know you have a loving and supportive husband. This will help so much in you being able to embrace this journey and enjoy it and the success you have in it.

Thanks for sharing!
Hugs

I'm so glad you told me about splitting up the protein.  That makes total sense but I didn't even think about it.  Thanks!
