+1 kg since yesterday???!!!
The title says it all... my scale went up 1 kg in 1 day!! If I was upset yesterday about the first kg it seemed I gained - which I dismissed as water weight - today I'm rant raving mad!!!
I don't believe it! Why is this happening to me? I'm not taking cortisones any more... My calorie intake is minimal (about 600 cals yesterday)... I drink plenty of water... I don't seem to have water retention since I'm constantly in the bathroom... in short, I don't know what else to do or to think!
OK, I'll calm down now. I've been avoiding diuretics since I have a chronic bladder problem, but I think I'm going to risk it today. If I don't see a positive change by Monday I'm calling my doctor!

Amalia.. try not to panic. You are what.. about 6 months out now? This is when things start slowing down and the scale can teeter back and forth by 3 to 4 lbs or so for a week or 2...then you will suddenly begin to lose again. The further out you get, the more this can occur. We just have to keep on track during this time and everything will begin to go down again.
You are probably too, still adjusting from the meds you were on. Try to not get too upset just yet. I know this is easier said than done.. TRUST me I know.. but your body may just be in one of those "phases". Also watch the carb intake so it does not trigger cravings and hunger to return.
Hugs and love.

Lost 114 lbs. working on getting rid of a recent 10 lb regain...and WILL succeed!
"Not panicking" is easier said than done. I know you are right, of course, and I'm trying to pull myself together here. Oh, by the way, I'm 5 months out today. This last month was almost a total waste with the 'roids etc. *sigh*
It doen't matter, this is not a sprint it's a marathon and I have no deadlines. All I have is a nightmare experience of massive weight gain from cortisones in the past that scares the s**t out of me!

Sorry Amalia, I know how frustrating that can be. How much is a kg? For the past 10 years or so, my body has lost weight in that pattern- down several lbs, stall for a few days or even 2-3 weeks with sometimes a 2-3 lb up and down during that time, and then suddenly start losing again and then start the whold cycle all over. Very frustrating and the cause of most of my failed WL attempts.
But I prepared myself mentally before surgery that this pattern might very well keep up even after surgery, and it did exactly that. But now, instead of getting discouraged and giving up, I just keep doing what I'm doing, knowing that pretty soon, it start to drop again.
Try not to let it get you down or make you feel that you are doing something wrong. Are you sure you are getting enough calories in now that you are about 6 months out? Maybe you need to talk to your nutritionist and make sure. Too little calories can cause problems and slow you down.
Hang in there-

Hi Rhonda. 1 kg = 2.2 lbs.
I've been a yo-yo dieter all my life too, so I do know all about it. My pattern was lose-stall-gain-give up! The good thing now is that I can't really give up, the reduced size of my sleeved stomach won't allow it. Nor do I want to give up. I'm sticking in there, eating within my guidelines and hoping this is just a fluke!
