should i pick 2 days a week to weigh myself or what? i am totally addicted to my scale and weigh myself about every other day. sometimes there is change and sometimes not. if i have a bad day im not so smart and get on the scale to see how much damage i did. i am so looking forward to the journey and have already made so many changes. i am so excited and cant wait for next month! :) i just need help on healthy lunches. like i said i wont eat salad. the only thing i can think of is portion control microwave meals for days at school or turkey breast sandwhiches. and fruit of course.

I can honestly say that I weigh my self every day.  I don't loose every day of course and I have had a 5 day period where I did not loose anything.  I just know that if I stick to what I am suppose to I do see the weight come down.  I do love it when I see the numbers change. I would say that you need to find times that make you comfortable. If you are addicted to the scale try  every 3 days or so...or if you love seeing the big changes once a week works too.  Good Luck.

Hey Sara, once or twice a week is great. Daily, which I do some weeks, is too hard on the psyche. Work on portion control, exercise, water and viatamins. Avoid white starchy things and go with whole grain complex carbohydrates. If you buy larger bags of things for the family. Do portion control by putting a serving on a small plate or small bowl. I use a salad size plate for my main plate at meals these days, sometimes the saucer size works better. Your mind still sees a pretty full plate and you have not overdone it on the portions. Of course, no going back for seconds. Take at least 20 minutes to eat your meal to allow your brain time to register that you have eaten.

I have the hardest time making the meal last 20 minutes after so many years of eating rapidly. I am more satisfied if the meal is leisurely and I chew very well.

thanks, I'm working on it. my next big thing is to eat slowly and not get seconds. those do me in so bad. like u though ive been dong it for years. how did u change? i agree daily is too hard but i am so excited i want to see that change. i weighed myself 3 or 4 times this week and dropped 6 lbs officially. :) looking forward to the new week. Hubby has a bottle of pop and im a little tempted but i know better by day 7. i had a medicine cup size sample and yeah i missed it to **** but its a habit now but i know until its been 3 weeks the boat could sink if i am not careful. ive just never been so excited to change, loose weight, etc and ive never seen 6 lbs leave in 1 week!

Bravo for not taking nore of the pop.  Congrats on the 6#.  That is simply amazing to happen before surgery.  Find non food ways to celebrate milestones.

I changed the not going for seconds with surgery, my pouch was so small, that I did not dream of putting more in there or I would have felt sick.  In the meantime, do your best, chew slowly, put the fork down between bites.  Drinking the water is a wonderful habit, keep it up.  Small changes each week will not stress your body and mind too much.  Work with the excitement to keep the incentive to maintain healthy habits.

ive only had 1200 calories today and worked out so i thought i would have lost more but it says im up 2 lbs. im just going to stick with what i saw the time be4 because it'll drive me crazy. so i am going to ban the scale. maybe sunday and wednesday i will weigh. i chewed slowly and put the form down and took 20 minutes to eat dinner. at first i didnt feel full and the food was so mushy it was weird but im not hungry now and its hours later. my body might be hanging onto weight though because i had 2300 calories yesterday. i need to find a happy medium but its so hard.

I'm so bad at this.  I weigh myself every day.  I have been doing this for a year now.  I'm addicted.  And I haven't lost anything since June 19.   I am 20 days post op.
