Bariatric Buddy

Hello there!
I wanted to say hello and check in. I had my third nutritionist appointment and have lost a total of five pounds. I was asked if I wanted to try meal replacement shakes or something to lose weight and I said no. Food is a struggle sometimes but I would rather deal with food than replace it with anything. I am going to be more aggressive this month in getting counseling because I recognize that I need the help. I have a lot of emotional issues that are surfacing and I'm starting to think that I'm not a good candidate for wls at this time. My emotional binging is going to sabatoge my tool when I don't have the self control to take care of it. I don't know. We will see what happens.
In the meantime I felt inspired by Jillian Michaels and joined a walkathon that will be held in October. I've got a team of eight people so far, and a few others that are interested. In preparation, I am walking one and a half miles every other day for now and plan to build up to the full three miles by October. I'm excited, and sore as heck.

Also good for you in recognizing and admitting that you have emotional food issues that could stand in the way of your wls success. If you begin therapy now, you may be good to go in time for your surgery. I am so proud of you for acknowledging this and being willing to take action. You are being smart and responsible and i admore you for this.

Jane I am so proud of you for going for the walks. Goals are wonderful. Recoginzing a need and going for the support is also a blessing. I have faith that you will succeed with the walkathon in October. I will be beside you in spirit. Hugs
