I'm Still Around!

Hi everyone. I haven't had a chance to get the internet in forever it seems. I did find time one night to update my blog but that's about it. I was trying to read thru all the posts and catch up, but there are so many! Lots of new people, pre and post op. That's great!

Hope all my old buddies are doing well too. Patrece, I'm so sorry that you are having problems and have to have surgery. I'll be praying for a quick recovery for you! Hope things are still well with your daughter and grand-to-be. Vicki, sounds like your weight has stabilized and you are happy and feeling good where you are. Hope things are better with both your dad and your husband. Gotta check on Colleen! Kathy, I hope you are doing well and enjoying the warm weather. All of you out there- I sure have missed you.

I had been stuck at the same weight for a while but have started to move downward again. Seems like for the past week, I have been playing mind games with myself. Whenever I look in the mirror, I see my old body-60 lbs heavier than it is now. I have been feeling bloated and huge, like I haven't lost any weight at all. People keep complimenting me on my loss, I see the number on the scale, I see the smaller clothes. STILL, I feel huge. What is up with that??!! It's very frustrating.

On a very sad and tragic note, a dear friend's 36 year old son killed himself a few days ago. I cannot even begin to imagine the pain she and her family are going thru. I have had a very hard time dealing with even the idea of it, and it is extemely painful to even think about. He was her only child and the "apple of her eye." Please keep her and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

My wonderful dial up connection has started losing me and I thought I had just lost this post, so I'm going to stop and post it now before it;s gone. It is kinda long, so maybe that was a sign to shut up! " )
Hugs,
Rhonda

Keeping you and your friend and her family in my thoughts and prayers Rhonda. Sad when you lose a child, no matter how the death occurs.

Keep following your plan and the weight will continue to slip off. I have taken up jogging (on advice from the surgical team - to up my metabolism) seems to be helping, I am too tired to snack.

Take care Rhonda, Hugs

Thanks Kathy. I'm glad the jogging is working for you. I have to get back on my regular exercise routine too and I know that will help. Have a great weekend.

Thanks for the well wishes rhonda! Just waiting for july 28th to get it all taken care of and hoping I feel wayyyy better after. Then of course there is the worry of gaining weight from that. BUT I will still have my right ovary, so i am hoping that will keep things in balance for me somewhat.
The Grand-to-be is due in 4 weeks, but momma is already dialted to 3 and 70% effaced (as of Wed) so it is looking like the little man may make an earlier entrance. We'll see! I am ready to snuggle up with that little man for sure! I was so happy to have spent the day yesterday with my other 2 grandchildren. I just LOVE grandbabies! they are the spice of life!

The further out from surgery you get the more you will experience times where the scale decides to make a standstill. It is normal unfortunately. Don't let it discourage you and get you off track, or the real troubles will begin. Just stick with the rules and try to get some extra activitiy in. You may need to add a protein supplement to help spur the loss and make sure liquids are being taken in , in a high nough amount.

I hurt for your friends loss, and yours as well... My Mother took her life.. It is a very hard way to lose a loved one, as you almost feel like you should have seen their pain and been able to help. BUT when a person gets to that point, they no longer want help, just out of the pain they are living in. It is so very sad. I never want to know the pain of losing a child. I know it has got to be the most unbearable loss known to one. Send a hug and lots of love to your friend for me. I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers.

Great to hear from you! HUGS to you as well

Patrece
