Hi Everyone;

I am new to this group.  I am 30 years old and have very severe diabetes.  I have my RNY surgery on June 22nd and have been doing the Optifast pre-op diet for a week and a half.  I have lost 13 lbs so far!!!  WOOHOO for me

I have learned a lot about myself and others while changing my lifestyle and my overall thought process and habits.  I'm proud of my small accomplishments, which will lead me to a healthier life which is my ulitmate goal.

I am a bit nervous about the surgery, however I am so excited.  I am going to be diabetes free!

Take care,
Michelle

Hello Michelle! Welcome to our group! I am soooo happy for you. Surgery is right around the cormer! I remember that time... I was so excited. It's like a new lease on life and for diabetics this surgery can be a lifesaver!

Congrats on your weight loss thus far and for focusing on making the changes that need to be made.

Welcome to the family Michelle. I am so excited for your upcoming surgery. I too have diabetes, type 2, and took my last insulin shot the day before surgery. Nine months now without poking my abdomen to inject insulin, wohoooo.

Thank you Patrece and Kathy.  I am very excited and things are going well.  Now I'm just going to keep myself busy so I don't get too amped up.  LOL.
