wanted to share
i got on the scale tonight and am down about 4 lbs!! so exciting. it messed up and tried to say 9-10 but i dont know why it was doing that b/c that was after it told me only 4 lbs. then i waited and tried again and it was accurate again. but my kid is gaining weight like a melon and i'm freaking out. total do-over in getting rid of carbs next month so us all. this is just insane. and they wont test her thyroid again because they did in nov and dont care that i have issues with mine they said shes eating too much. but enough venting. i dont blame her. and i am so excited to be down 4 lbs. i wonder how much i am going to loose in 9 months or if this is just a coincedence that im eating better and drinking water. but i dont get enough vitamins, what should i be taking? i have an adult gummy i try to remember to take.
Sara, pre-op a general multivitamin is great, you can order samples of bariatric vitamins, but our tastes do change after surgery. You still have a few months, so general vitamin is great, check with your Nut for any special considerations ralated to your specific health. I use centrum chewable, orange taste is very tolerable.
With improved general diet in your household, your child will grow with healthy foods too, I don't recall your child's age right now. But setting a good example is the best way to teach the kids a healthy lifestyle.

thanks, shes 6. i'll be sure to stay on my vitamin. everything u guys are telling me plus the dietican is is making me loose weight little by little. so excited. if u loose too much will they not let u have surgery? but i guess if i were to loose 100 lbs (not saying i will) in these 9-12 months then i might not need the surgery but 260 still is kind of high for a 125 ideal weight.
Any weight that you can shed before surgery will make the surgeon's job easier. Focus on healthy lifestyle, hang in there and these months will fly on by.
Six is a busy age, you have your hands full. Enjoy your daughter. You are improving her life expectancy by the great example you are setting. Hugs

Sara, i wondered the same thing about would they deny my surgery if losing too well..but no. As kjathy said, it makes the surgeons job easier, and it shows you are willing to be compliant.
Your dauighter is at a great age. If i weren't a grammy and about to have a hysterectomy, I might have another of my own..lol. I so enjoy my grandbabies. Your daughter is at an age where she really looks up to her Mommy. She will be so much better off learning these new healthy ways of eating at this young age. Your whole family will benefit. Taking walks together can be a special activity that her and Mom does together. Best thing too, is don't tell anyone they are going to be eating better and healthier.. just gradually change over your foods and how you prepare them, and they may never really notice!
Eat breakfast within 30 minutes of getting up to rev your metabolism!
Congrats on the 4 lbs down! YEAY for you!!!!

Lost 114 lbs. working on getting rid of a recent 10 lb regain...and WILL succeed!
it was the only one i could get to fit with their weird avatar sizes, and it scrunched it up, but it gives the same effect. I don't know if the scale is off because Gabby weighed less too, but i checked 3 times and it said i was down another 4-5 lbs. i dont like weighing myself everyday so i dont but in a few days i will weigh again. i was "bad " for breakfast and had toast with my CIB but the kid woke up at 5 am and wouldnt go back to bed so i was really hungry. had spagetti canned and yogurt and water for lunch. cant wait til they help me find better lunch choices but i am eating less on purpose. i need to start plugging my meals in everyday to the nutrition thing on here but i hated seeing how many carbs and fat i was eating so i quit. lol. but loosing the 1000 calories of liquids has helped so much. i am starting to have a hard time with water, it goes in spurts. i find i am more thirsty at night but i try to have 1 bottle gone by dinner, 2 for dinner and 1 for night or opposite. it can be hard but i am making it work. we got upset about her weight gain and let her know that things were going to change but didnt go into detail of what was replacing the food we ate. i rented blast away the pounds from the library and LOVE it. i have walk away the pounds but its not my favorite and doesnt even give me any energy, etc. so i plan on buying this other dvd the moment i have the money. 10 bucks at walmart and its mine :) can't wait. will borrow the librarys until someone puts a hold on it. lol. but thats about it. i feel great and am loosing weight and am even reading a book about changing your lifestyle/habits/mindset in weight loss. i guess my only question is after surgery can you freeze small portions like chicken and veggies already pureed, etc if you dont freeze the chicken be4 you make it. i just cant see wasting so much food when i am on a soft foods/pureed food diet.
