i gained weight :(
I know ihavent been eating too well, and even when i try i am getting in way too many carbs...l.. well i weighed myself this morning the first time since i started drinking 64 oz of water/crystal lite a day and ive gained about 3-4 lbs. i am so frustrated. we cant buy whole grain and brown rice until next month and i am addicted to the flavors rice. we use no calorie butter so thats not it.... i had a ton of snacks last night. i just couldnt feel full. no i am paying for it. so much to learn, so much to do. today is an exercise day and i was one bottle of water short of making my goal last night, or 1/2 bottle. just needed to vent as i go on this journey with you all and try to loose my 23 lbs. p.s. i have thyroid problems but its being treated with meds. and they upped some of my psych meds but ive never gained weight off this combo be4 so i dont know. ;( i guess i wont beat myself up over it because i have more than a month to fix it until my checkup.
Well Sara, the snacks are adding salt which causes fluid retention. Plus your weight can and will vary from day to day. Give this new time of being off soda time, the fluids will shift.
Importantly, what are you doing for exercise? Any exercise will help in using extra calories you are taking in. The exercise will also give you something to do besides nibble on snacks.
Try having low calorie things available and prepared for snacking, I know that you are not a fan of veggies, but raw veggies take time to chew, find something that you like, carrots, celery with a bit of peanutbutter, cauliflower, peppers, brocolli, a wedge of cabbage. Unbuttered, unsalted air popped popcorn.
Funny as it sounds, drinking more water will help you flush the extra fluids out of your system. Are you seeing a mental health provider? Feeding you feelings? Our bodies need food for fuel, our minds can do strange things to our appeities.

Im doing fine. :) yeah i am doing a walk away the pounds dvd. every other night. i had a few too many snacks last night ... lunchmeat, etc. i am having a rough day today but i'm doing really well. getting support for my PDD/ moody child and pop free for 3 days now and i feel great :) miss it, but i feel great. going to work on my book tonight some more. yep i see my therapist on thursday. and waiting for psych at the hosp to call back to see if i can get a new shrink or not. were trying to get better about snacks, been having strawberries, granola bars, string cheese, yogurt. but sometimes i have a bad snack with it. its still week 1 of me actually making changes but im trying.
Its a step at a time my dear. And you are taking steps in the right direction, with a few back slides along the way. This is not unusual. Just work each day to do your best to avoid the backslides. Just do the next RIGHT thing. Relax about the scale a little. Can be fluid weight. If not, then you will have to cut out the bad stuff some more, and up your exercise a bit. YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!!

Lost 114 lbs. working on getting rid of a recent 10 lb regain...and WILL succeed!
thanks all, definetly am getting better at it as i go on. day 4 q/o pop and i feel fine, just tired. had some tramatic expereinces this week but im fine. i dont need those people in my life anyways. havent been able to get my 4th water bottle in the past few days. will try harder today. i had french toast sticks for breakfast and yogurt. for me thats good but i know its not the best. at lunchtime i have a dentist apt so i prob wont eat til dinner. tonight is steak, 1 slab for me, prob 2 or 3 servings though its super thin. green beans for dinner and i think i will make chicken and vegetables for dinner for tomrrow.
Maybe it would be a healthier oprion if you could replace the french toast sticks with oatmeal? (If you absolutely need those carbs to start your day)...Just a thought.
Do try to get in a healthy lunch of some kind. this assures your body the nutrition is coming and helps with weightloss.
