How much do you walk?

How much do you walk?
My company that I work for has started an employee wellness program,
Part of the program they have provided us with a pedometer and asked us to track our steps we take each day. With a goal of 10,000 or more per day for ten weeks
I have finished three weeks of wearing my pedometer, I am proud of myself that I have increased my walking over the last three weeks
The first week I walked 50,307 steps
The second week I walked 62,089 steps
This past week I walked 90,537 steps
This brings me to a total of 202,933 stepsI have set a personal goal to increase my steps each week during the 7 weeks left in the program This week wil be hard to do that as I was not felling well on sat and only got in about 4000 steps in Maybe it is time to get my Cain out and use it more and go for walks in the park or in the mall This may not seem like an accomplishment to everyone else but you must understand that I am a couch potato to the max so much so that if the TV remote is out of reach that I would watch what was on rather than to shift position and reach the control

I have personally tried to maintain the 10K steps a day, but I have to say it has been tough lately with my pain and issues going on.

What you are accomplishing is awesome Mark! Don't ever feel like it is not a big deal! You are building up the momentum, taking control of your health and doing a great job of it. I am so proud of the effort you are putting into this! Keep it up and you will soon be amazed with how far you have come!

10,000 steps a day is a great goal. I have the same goal. Most days I meet the goal, exceed it when I work a busy night shift. On busy nights, I can get in 5000 steps in a shift. The aerobic ones count most, that is the ones from steady walking. Get out your cane and stroll some to get to your daily step goal. I love having a target, exceeding it makes me feel like I did even more for my benefit.

Keep up the steps, you will notice the difference in just a short time. Hang in there Bear.

I think you are doing great!  Keep it up, those small steps matter.  I keep losing my pedometers, I just can't keep them on me for some reason.  Good thing I'm in benefits I can usually find a replacement.  :)
