Wow! A busy month

Hi everyone. Wow, what a crazy busy month it has been. Sorry I haven't been around and posting. I can say that I have been popping in and reading posts, just haven't had time to actually post myself. Sorry everyone. Since I hit my bandiversary date my life has been absolutely crazy. My grandchildren have kept me running around like a chicken with my head cut off for the past month with end of the year school projects and preschool graduations. I have found it very hard to get my workouts in say nothing of the walks but we are managing 2-3 two hour workouts a week and have been able to pull out at least three walks a week. The little ones have been out of school fully for a week now and are to start summer school this next week and for one little guy speech therapy. My hubby and I have a daughter that is living with us now with her two children. They moved back home from Missouri in March. She is working part time as a lpn for a home health care agency so I am helping with the little ones. She will be starting full time college for her RN on June 21st so things are going to get even more busier for me but I'm glad that I am now able to help her. I would not have been able to due to several health issues including the obesity a little over a year ago. As for my weight loss journey, Things have been going good since I got over the last bump in the road that I hit in February. I have hit my goal and actually surpassed it by a couple of lbs. Not that I am actually trying to lose anymore.
At this point just trying to maintain. I am hoping that when I go for my annual next week with the doc he may give me some suggestions on this. I actually have a empty band as it was drained prior to my colon surgery in February. I think I have trained my stomach or mind to think that it has restriction because I have not had to deal with hunger. I hope it stays this way. lol. Oh, I finally allowed myself to have a big cheat and enjoyed all of the good stuff at the memorial day bbq with my daughters and their families. I too am doing some water arobics in my daughters pool with the grandbabies. Lol. They have outside with them all the time it seems. Anyway, now that I have totally bored you all since I had a few minutes I will shut up and wish you all well on your journey. I am going to try to be more supportive to everyone. Miss you all bunches. Hugs..... Anna

Anna, I am sure having those little ones around are making up for the exercise you are not getting in as you used to. I know when my grandbabies are arond, it is some of my most active times, and cherished times as well.

Congrats on hitting goal! I am still fighting that last 4 lbs to get to my 150 goal. BUTMy true goal was to hit a normal BMI, which I did manage to do!
What is you weight now? I bet you feel soooo good! Bless your heart for helping your daughter and Grandkids. I am an LPN, and have often thought of going back for my RN, but not too sure i want to. I am a caregiver here at home for my husband, and as much as i want a career again, I need a break from the caregiver thing.

Thanks for checking in! hope to hear from you more! Enjoy your family, thats so much of what life is about.
HUGSSSSSSSSSS!!

Patrece, Yep I truly believe we get lots of exercise with the grandchildren. Like I said I have two that live with me now and three more just three houses down from me so it sure seems I am doing something with one or more of them most all of the time. Like you said they are cherished times. I actually think I have a lot of making up time to do also because like I said earlier a year and a half ago I was unable to dedicate I believe quality time with them due to health issues. They do go out walking with me and my husband also so that is a sight to see for sure. Him and I with two pekes and 5 grandbabies going around town. lol. Actually when I weighed yesterday morning I weighed in at 148. To be honest I have to say I bounce back and forth between 148-150. This has been a pattern this last month. Like you my main goal was to get a normal bmi and 150lbs either or which ever came first. Thanks for the congrats. You will be there too im sure one of these days soon when you are least expecting it. I truly believe the last few lbs are the hardest to dispose of. I tried adding protein, drinking more water, adding exercise etc. seemed like nothing worked. You are looking so good though girl, you should be proud of what you have accomplished. Yea I am glad that I am able to help her to go back to school. She says she only wishes she had made the decision to go back sooner after she finished her lpn which was in 2006. A little nervous about being able to do the work but I keep telling her she will be fine. Yes I can understand how you feel about being the caregiver. You are truly a blessing. My thoughts and prayers are with you girl as you go into this next surgery in July. I had mine done 20 years ago and haven't missed any of those extra parts in the least. lol. Of course, back then your hospital stay was much longer especially with a open procedure which I had. I can remember very well some of the thoughts that go through your mind when told you need to have this done. I'm sure you will be fine as I was. I can remember being thrown into a early change of life within a couple days of the surgery. Gotta luv those dang hot flashes. lol. On to a much happier subject, your new grandbaby. I am so excited for you. It certainly sounds like you will be able to get some quality time in with him before you get put out of commission for a bit. I remember when I had my lap band surgery it about killed me when I came home and the most I could do was sit and have someone put the youngest grandson on my lap so I could hold him. But then he was a big boy. He is 16mos old now and weighs 30lbs if that give you a idea. Looks like Candice is ready for the little man to arrive. Thanks for all of your support on my journey. Like I said I am going to try to do better with my postings. It means a lot to me and I'm sure it does others. Hugs...........Anna

Anna, it is sooo normal for that scale to fluctuate by 3 to 4 lbs day to day and even during the course of a single day. I hit my 154lbs, (lowest so far) and i allow for a fluctuation of 3 lbs upward, before I start worrying. Water weight, etc can contribute that much. So far I have not exceeded the 3 lbs up and by the next day it usually comes back down..  I think as long as we pick an upper limit to ou fluctuations, and really take action big time if we exceed that upper limit, we are on the right track.

I hear ya on the big grandson.. My grandson I have now is about 20 months old...will be 2 in October and he weighs like 34 lbs! His sister, who will be 4 in less than 2 weeks only weighs 31 lbs.. He is tall and chubby, she is tiny all the way around. Hard to look at them and believe they are brother and sister, but they are. Cheyenne takes after mommy and Connor takes after daddy. (Daddy is my son) He is 6'2". Mommy is 4'11 or 5' can't remember exactly.

I am very much looking forward to the new little man! These Grandbabies make life so special. they are the most awesome gift a person can receive! (At least I think so..)

I am so proud of all of your effort and good work! you are an inspiration to us all! Enjoy your good health and better life to the fullest! You deserve it my friend.
Big hugs!

Patrece

Congratulations on getting to goal Anna.  Enjoy the time with your grandbabies.  They grow so quickly.  You are not boring us.  I am glad you stopped by for a moment to update.  Come back from time to time, I love hearing from everyone, those just starting and others like you who are farther out ang getting to goal.

Life does get busy.  I have been working on my craft projects, namely quilts and loving the time I get to play with fabric and batting.  Mega hugs Anna, Kathy
