Yesterday I did something I haven't done in 20.. yep count em' 20 years.
I bought a swimsuit!  Keep in mind that I am VERY body consious(sp?) and would never step outside in shorts much less a swimsuit.

I begain this journey at a size 32(YIKES!). My new swimsuit?? size 22!

I am going to start taking a water pilates class next week, so I had to buy one if I wanted to go.
Only swimsuits allowed in the pool.

Rejoice with me!

That is awesome!  I'm so proud of you.  It is hard to get around being body conscious, but we just have to determine that the benefits outweigh any negatives in the long run.  Good job and good luck with your new class!

Woohoo! Way to go! That IS a big step.

My mother has a pool so I am used to wearing a swimsuit, just a little less publicly. Only family and friends swim with us occasionally. I didn't want to buy an expensive one this year because I know my body is still changing. I was actually able to find one for $16 at Walmart that fit!!! Size 22/24?!?!
I was ordering 5X and 6X clothing online before my first visit with my surgeon and dietitian.

I also had to buy a bit of cooler comfortable clothes for a camping trip last week. A pair of shorts to wear in public? I've been more self conscious with the all over looseness of my skin lately than I was when I was reveling in my largeness. But I did it. Bought the shorts.... in an actual store! I had to go down in size a couple times from the pair I first picked up too. I ended up getting 22/24. And they were a little lose, but 18/20 won't work for me yet. I even dragged DH with me for his opinion. He really liked the way I was looking in the new clothes. That helps. ;-)
I held my head high wearing my new shorts when we went camping and I didn't have to sweat my butt off in jeans.

Anyhow, congratulations ledaizey! Have fun with it!

Good for you on the swimsuit.   Swimming has always been my choice and I can't wait to get back in the water.  Probably another three weeks, while this new drain hole closes.  but, I have gone from a size 24 to a 20 and in a draw I have some wonderful 18's and 14's that my Mom bought.  Can't wait to get into them.   Loose skin or not, at my age, there's going to be loose skin no matter what.   I don't have to look at it and my dearest husband loves me no matter what so I am sure yours does also.  Go for it and have a ball.

Wow Ledaizey, I am impressed. Go for the swimming my friend. I too have just started feeling a little comfortable out and about in public wearing shorts. Hugs
