Well, Long story as short as possible..

I have been having severe pains in my uterus, and it just keeps getting worse. Having my "cycle"  every 2 to 3 weeks if I needed to or not, and a very painful and heavy cycle. The sevevre menstrual type pains stay present even between cycles, sometimes doubling me over with the pain.

So i went to the doc 2 weeks ago. (gyn) After the exam, He informaed me of what he thought was going on. Enlarged uterus, prolapsed uterus. Can't remember the name of what was causing it all, but all of my symptoms matched the condition. I was scheduled for an ultrasound for yesterday.. Not only do I have the condition he thought, but have a cyst on my uterus, and also one on my left ovary. He tried to do a uterine biopsy, but I have so much scar tissue, he couldn't get past my cervix to do it. (OUCHY!!!!)

So I am to have a hysterectomy and also have my left ovary removed. prior to surgery, he has to do a biopsy (same day just before the hysterectomy) to make sure it is not cancer or pre-cancer, as that will affect how they go about doing the procedure. Soooo I am looking at sometime in July for this surgery, as we have to get approval from insurance and get scheduled for the OR.

This too is a bit of a worry, as my daughter is due to have her baby in July and I am afraid she will go into labor while I am in the hospital. I am supposed to be with her during the delivery and I would just die if I miss it. Only thing that encourages me that I may not miss it is that even though she has 6 1/2 weeks to go, she is dilated to almost 2 so maybe she'll have him in time for me to not miss it.

Ahhhhhhh yet another recovery to go!

My thoughts and prayers are with you. My sister went through this a few years ago and feels much better after her hyst.  She loves not having a period anymore, and all her tests came back negative for cancerous tissue.

Hope you have the same results.

Thanks ledaizy! I am hopeful that all is ok with the biopsy. My pap came back clean so hoping all esle will too. Whatever may happen, I'll just handle it as it comes. What else can one do?
Thanks for the thoughts and prayers!

You are in my prayers Patrece. I had extreme pain with my cycles and had a hyst. done in 2006. I too feel so much better. I am sure if your pap came back clear you will be okay.

Take care of yourself

Thank you Davina! Glad it did the trick for you!
I am looking forward to being "cycle free" for sure! And of course pain free!

Hope all is going well for you!

Hi Patrice, Prayers aplenty. I am forwarding your request to my son's christian prayer group. Only positive vibes. I will say, I've been through this myself, and found it an easy recovery! If you have questions I'm happy to help.

Otherwise think of it as another forced vacation!

((((((((((boatloads of hugs, prayers and positive vibes coming your way Patrece))))))))).  You didn't call, tsk, tsk.

I am off this weekend.  Working nights wed and thurs and then free as a bird for a few days.  I will get in touch, or call me.  Tell Candace to time the labor around your surgery.  Wish I could be there for both the baby and you.  Hugs

PS, usually an overnight stay, two at the most.  Love you
