Bariatric Buddy
Intro
Everyone.. My name is Beth.. im 34 and recently joined the group.. i recently finished my eval and hoping to have the appt with the surgeon and to have a surgery date set for the RNY. I have been battling weight since i was a kid and just am tired of it now.. with mounting health issues and all the other 'tools' haven't been so successful. I live in FL with my DH and DD and our 2 dogs, but i am currently on vacation in AK seeing my best oldest friend! My first full day and i am suffering from jet leg.. Not sure what else to really say.. looking for friends and supporters that will totally understand what i am going thru! :) Good luck to everyone else out there too!!
I am glad to met you Beth. I went on vacation recently and found a good case of jet lag on the return home. I hope that your vacation is grand. I live in northern MN, about 90 miles from Canada, My hubby of 2.5 years and I share our home with 2 lap dogs that think they are "BIG" dogs.
I had my surgery 8 months ago, RNY, and am pleased to be carrying less of me about. I still am a work in progress and plan to keep working my 'tool' to be the most healthy I can be. Many of my chronic problems have improved with loss of weight. My knees sing the praises of less to carry about.
Check out monday eve chat session to get to know others better. I send out a reminder each monday with a shortcut to the chat session. Congrats on joining a positive support group. Feel free to post often, ask lots of questions, post ideas, etc. Let's lose together. Hugs

Hi Beth! Welcome to our Bariatric Buddy Group. So glad to have you here with us. Congrats on taking the steps you need to to take control of your health.
I live in Colorado with my hubby and 2 dogs. I am a mom of 2 young adult children and a Grammy of 2 wonderful kids with a 3rd due to arrive in our midst in just under 7 weeks.
I had RNY on 7/21/08. Am down 116 lbs, went from a tight 24 to an 8 and am now at a normal BMI. My obesity related health issues have resolved and I am so thankful for this procedure to give me the helping hand I needed to get where I am today. It takes effort and focus at this point to maintain the weight reduction, but I am doing well with it so far.
Post often with anything you need to share, ask about, need encouragement or support in. This is a warm and caring group. Try to make the chat. It's a fun and informative time.
Best of luck as you go through this pre-op process!
