Why I've been AWOL

Hello everyone! No, I haven't forgotten you. I've been having problems accessing OH the past few days. I have no idea why, but one day it took 15 minutes for the BB page to load!! Needless to say, I'm not famous for being the most patient person on the planet!

Another area I'm not too patient with is slow weight loss. It appears that I am in a stall. I was just checking the recent past and noticed that I have only lost 2lbs in the past 3 weeks! I hadn't realized because the scale had been going up and down for me. Since my eating habits haven't changed significantly I can only surmise that it's one of the famous "plateaus" people have been crying about. It could also be a result of my sciatica, which has kept me mostly in bed for the past 2 weeks. It doesn't matter. The sciatica is receding and I could try to take a step back in my eating. Actually, I think the 1200 calories my doc wants me to eat every day may be a bit too much for me. since I have such a sedentiary life-style. Anyway, as long as I'm not gaining, I'm fine. The weight will come off eventually.

I hope each and every one of you is doing great and you are experiencing many large and small victories!

my internet was sloooooooow too. I tried to sign on, it took so long that I walked away. The page finally loaded and I got a note from another member. I got busy with things around here that I missed the opportunity to chat with a fellow buddy.

I am glad that you are back Amalia. The weight will fluctuate a little, I agree that as long as you are not gaining, wheeeeeeee... Get in the protein, supplements and fluids. You might even try to change up your diet a little if your body is thinking it is starving. Do what your body allows for activity and exercise, even moving your arms more, using soup/veg cans for weights will help. Think arm exercises while resting in bed, lift the cans over head, to the sides, to your hips. Ankel pumps, even just tightening your leg muscles will help without added stress for your sciatica. Take care, Hugs

Welcome back Amalia and I'm glad you are back. Sorry to hear that you are dealing with sciatica problems. I am in the same boat with my weight fluctuating and I haven't lost any in awhile. Unfortunately, I have been dealing with poor eating habits but I am working on that. If I were you I would talk to your Dr about the calories and see if they think you can adjust them. Keep you chin up and I wish you the best.
