Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution.  Any thoughts/comments/ideas?  I was curious as to everyone here's feedback.  Episodes can still be caught on hulu.com until June 5.

I love his dedication to change the way kids eat. However, he is going to have a difficult time changing the way American school boards think. They want the food to be cheap, fast, and fulfilling. So what do they do.. fried foods, and high in carbs foods. Jamie has some great ideas but as you can see in the episodes he always has nay sayers. Being British myself of course I have to support Jamie...lol
But I honestly do hope that one day, the people will wake up and see that he has a valid point. That the food in the school cafeteria's is contributing to obesity in kids across the nation.

Now if he can change the way fast food restaurants make their food he will be my hero...lol
Please feel free to add me to your friends list.

I have an episode playing in the background.  I wish that eating healthy was economical for everyone.  I try to buy and fix fresh, healthy foods and they are expensive, tastey but $$.  I agree that fast foods should be better for us.  Having foods that are not saturated in carbs and fats is ideal.

I grew up in a home with a large veggie garden and we tried many different veggies growing up.  I miss the large garden and having the foods available at my fingertips.  The garden is work and I do not have the energy of time for all of that, plus I have moved farther north and the summer growing season is much shorter than where I grew up.

Excuses, excuses we all have them.  I am thankful for all that I have learned and that I have choices.  I pray that everyone takes advantage of their choices.  Hugs
