WOOHOO

Went to my first Post-op meeting with my surgeon. The sutures that burst last night were packed by an E.R doctor who according to me and my surgeon( eventhough he didn't say it in so many words) had absolutely no idea what she was doing. My doc had to cut open the incision and pack it with gauze and to make things worse.. I have to pack it twice a day with gauze..OUCH.. oh well lets hope it heals fast:)

On the other hand I got great news too... with my 11 day pre-op diet and this 1 post-op week I have lost an amazing 22 lbs... yes you read it right 22 lbs. I am so freaking happy.. The last time I lost 20 lbs it took me 6 weeks to do it.

I am feeling  a lot better just wish I had a better support system.. it is difficult when you are basically doing this by yourself.

Hugs to all

great to hear about the weight that has gone bye bye. you will be to goal before you know it.  i had to have a suture reopened and it had to be repacked twice a week.  i was hooked up to a vacuum unit to help it drain. i was a lot furthre out than you so that is probably the reason for the vac unit.  take good care of yourself.  you have a support group here. keep us posted. vick

Davina! Wonderful weight loss for sure!!!!! Congrats to you girl! keep up the great work!

So.. no infection in th open wound then? (that is what I have hped for all along) Did the doc give you any guesses on how long it may take for it to heal?  Again, so sorry you have to deal with this, but truly in the overall picture, it will be a small price to pay for the wondeful health you are going to achieve. The more protein you get the faster you will heal.

keep us up to date on how it is doing please. And as others have said, you are not alone.. WE are here for you! I am sorry you do not have people in your life who are more supportive, but we will always be here for you.
Hugs!

Patrece, the doc didn't say how long it would take perse, but told me to come back Wednesday. He said that it is rare that this happens but it does and it isn't infected but just old blood that was backed up and had no where to go. It doesn't smell like it did so I am sure he is right. He left it open and just packed because he wants it to heal on the inside first. He did say that in a few days it shouldn't be this tender anymore so I am looking forward to that;)

Thanks all. It means a lot to have all of your support on here. Not having a support system here is not because people don't care, but because I do not have a lot of people around me. I have my 15 yr old daughter, who does the best she can but is still a teenager and you know how teenagers are, my room mate who is also one of my best friends, he does all that he can but he has a bad back/hip himself and therefor can only do so much. I have no friends here in this .. they all live in different cities or states and my family lives in England and Holland. They will email me once in a while to ask how I am feeling but that is where the support ends:(

My husband from who I am seperated is in Florida and even if he were here he would be of no help. He is very ill physically and mentally, he is shizophrenic so that should tell ya enough:(  So I am basically on my own and some times it just gets to me but I am so happy that I have this site to go to and just vent if I need to or to get the Hooray's we need from time to time.. so to all of you.. thank you from the bottom of my heart:)

Hugs.

Glad to hear that things are not infected and the healing will happen.  Take care to get in your protein.  You have many here who will offer moral support and a shoulder to lean on.  Too bad we can't physically be there to help with your dressing.  I am online at least once a day to check the threads here.  Come to share anytime you need.

Congrats on the good start as losing.  Hugs
