Bariatric Buddy
stage 3...
ok so i started stage 3 today...and here is what i had so far...i did the write up on fitday and it only adds up to 25g of protein for the day and man im so full its crazy...
b- bit of hard boiled egg
s- cheese
l- egg drop soup
s- cheese
d- refried beans with cheese and maybe some greek yogurt on top...dont want to over do it
s- should i have one? and if i do it will be cottage cheese.
how the hell do you get it all in ...in a day if your full.....lol i cant cant do another protein drink the thought makes me want to gag =(

It will get easier, consider adding protein powder to pudding or jello. Flavor the greek yogurt with a bit of sugar free jelly or crystal light powder, I have added protein powder to greek yogurt to boost the protein content. Do your best for the time being. Looks like you have a good start. Some folks mix protein into crystal light for a nondairy protein boost.
Between the meals keep sipping on liquids. My MD staff did not expect us to be perfect, just to do our best. Keep up the good proteins. Hugs

hi, i'm very new to this, but i also have the same problem. i bought Isopure at gnc to help me with liquids and protein. it's 20oz bottle and has 40g protein. they have different flavors and some are better than others. have you tried these ones? they kinda taste like kool-aid .its helped me a lot but if i drink all the liquid im suppose to for the day then it seems like i cant eat. if i eat then i cant drink. i have been having problems with dehydration and understanding exactly how much and how often to eat. Have you had any of these problems?

Lost 114 lbs. working on getting rid of a recent 10 lb regain...and WILL succeed!
Ok.. it is hard hard hard to get it all in early out. The tummy is so tiny and all.
One way to get in a duble benefit is to mix vanilla or unflavored protein into crystal light. and sip at it like you do any liquids. sip sip sip. You are getting both your protein and your liquids in this way. I like vanilla protein with orange crystal light... tastes like an orange creamsicle.. yummy..
At stage 3, avoid soups! If you have soup, do not eat the broth, as it will wash the solids out of your pouch too quickly and take away space for the solids, and you want to absorb as much as possible from meals.
I still to this day, have a late PM snack of either yogut or cottage cheese if I feel hungry at all, or am behind in my protein for the day. So maybe give that a try. Just for right now, don't excedd your 1 oz or whatever the measurement is your doc gave you to take in at this point. I am guessing being at phase 3 you are now allowed to eat solids? Maybe try tuna, canned chicken breast, etc. these are tender and moist and easier to digest than other solid protein meats at this point.
Hope these ideas are of some help to you. If you need more ideas just keep posting... and i am sure you will get more and more as time goes on.

I am just a little bit ahead of you recovery wise and have the same issues.
It seems that you just can't get in the amounts recommended and to that.. my dr. said no more protein drinks because I was having issues, so all I get protein wise is what I can eat.
Honestly you are doing much better at eating than I am. I can only eat 2 times a day.
breakfast - scrambled egg w/ lowfat cheese
lunch - (today - tuna w/ lf miracle whip) and cheese
the rest of the time I have to drink,drink,drink because of dehydration issues.

s- the rest of the cottage cheese
d-ricotta with marinara and motzarella on top
s- maybe if needed some cottage cheese
i didnt realize how much protein is in cheese...its a good think i like cheese. i am thankfull for not having to do a protein shake. i want to try the click but i will wait till i am a few more months out. i know i will need to have at least one shake a day but right now i just cant stomach it.
