Post Surgery
WELL I MADE IT. I have not been on line much because of some husband stuff. It is amazing how the emotional can just take over. Anyway surgery went well. I was not aware of the amount of gas that would be used to pump up the stomach for the surgery. Most of my pain was from that. Now that burping, tooting and other lovely movements have returned life is good. I am on pureed foods now. They are not too bad. I have to find the balance in the protein powders, food and liquids because I am always full. I am walking twice a day for 1/2 hour. I don't get very far, about 1/2 mile but at least I am walking and go a little further each time. I have a follow up DR apt on Thursday and am looking forward to that too. I'm looking forward to some really good changes because I really need them.
Welcome to the loser's bench Lucy. Sounds like you are having normal responses. The gas pains ease pretty quickly, walking does help. Explore the new world of puree. You will see changes in a bit, others will see them first, usually happens that way. Hugs

Welcome to the losers bench! So sorry you have been having "husband stuff" going on. You have so many other changes and challenges to deal with right now, more, just isn't needed. I hope it was nothing too awful serious and that it is resolved now.
I agree, the gas they pumped me full of was my biggest discomfort post op (at least after the first couple of days). I was so so glad when it passed.. ha ha! Pun intended!
Good job getting in those walks! Keep up the good work. It does take a little bit to get used to everything we have to eat drink and supplement, but gets a bit easier to balance as time goes on. Good luck at your appt and keep us posted on how you are and let us know how we can help support and encourage you.
I hear you too on the need for the really good changes... I think most of us need them, and all of them are not about food and exercise.
