Another one bites the dust

Good morning to all and Happy Mother's Day.  If you aren't a Mother then just plain old Happy Day to you!

I lost another pound; I'm now officially 198.  I was waiting to see if the 199 was a fluke before I changed my ticker but with another one gone, I went for it.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think I have a hernia.  My surgeon didn't say anything about it when I was in there 2 weeks ago, but my PCP said it could be a hernia.  I'm not in any sort of pain, regardless of what I am doing (wiht the exception of the arthritis and old age LOL) and I can't feel it when I'm sitting down.  But when I am standing It feels like a hard lump on the left side of my incision.  For now, I'm just going to keep an eye on it and will go back if it starts to give me any problems.

Yesterday was my first official day as an instructor.  There was an open house and all the instructors come in and just work on their craft and people can ask questions and watch and sign up if they want.  I don't know how many I got, but they told me I have students ready to take the beginners class.  They didn't have an instructor for these classes when they printed the schedule so at least until August, the hours will pretty much be up to me.  I know that at least 3 of the students will be young girls and I think at least one older lady signed up.  The class is 2.5 hours long and it doesn't take that long to make a bracelet or necklace.  So I am going to come up with a few things that I can just talk about like different kinds of beads, etc.  I think I can do this, but in the back of my mind I keep thinking, "Oh God PLEASE don't let me suck at this!"

I have a huge confidence problem.  I got stuck for so long without any weight loss that I thought that was the end of it; I was going to have to be satisfied with 200 pounds.  At this point, my personal goal is 145 but i would settle for 160.  My PCP thinks 145 is too low but that is the weight that puts my BMI in the normal range.  I really don't think I can get down that low, but we will see.

Lots of stuff to do today.  We were without power for about 5 hours yesterday.  When I finally called the power company they said they didn't expect us to have power restsored until about 1:30 AM on Monday.  The power came back on about 3 minutes after I hung up the phone.  So in the meantime, there is vacuuming and dusting and dishes to do.  I'm trying to get at least a few pieces of jewelry made everyday and have to start taking pictures.  My website will be up and running at the end of the month.  I still have to take pictures of everything, prices etc, and get that all published to the website.

It's also back to water aerobics this week for me.  I finally got them to change my physical therapy time so that I can get to class.  I haven't done anything in the way of exercise in a couple of weeks.  Time to get back on track.

Well, that's my story for the day.  I hope you all have a great day and that everybody sees a smaller number on the scale (except Vickie!)

colleen, sounds like you are really taking off on your jewlery project. i know i like my necklace. thanks again.

i would love to get into water aerobics again but i can't find anyplace with warm enough water.  they shut down the place that did water aerobics for arthritis sufferers (they had kept the water warmer) and now the only places offering it also offer laps, etc.  they have to keep the water cooler for blood pressure problems for people doing laps.  the water is so cool i have to come home and soak in a hot tub of water to quit hurting.  arthritis is a real pain in the keister.  hope u enjoy your classes, think of me when u are doing it.j

so thrilled that the scales are going in the right direction.  those stalls can be scarey, i know i didn't like them.  there is no telling where you can get down to now that you have started moving again.  good luck to you. love ya, vick
