Prozac
Doc put me on Prozac. Why am I sad about this? I prefer not to be on pills. I've never really taken meds (pills mainly) as directed or I should say as scheduled. I am just tired of crying in my room or at every song that seems to come on.
I am so afraid that I will gain weight from them but I will just have to put in double duty with telling myself no. Today is another sad day for me. Been off my diet for almost 2 weeks and my daughter went to school and left her lunch at home.
Let today be over soon or better yet; just let me feel better.

Try your best to take your prozac. I feel so much better on my antidepressant, human too. Lifting your mood should produce other positive effects, getting in fresh air and activity as tolerated. Do your best to make good food choices during this time before surgery. Most of the work is on the choices that we make after the initial surgery and losing has happened. Any habits developed now will help with the life long health that we desire.

Discuss your concerns abot weight gain with your doc. Prozac does have weight gain as a side effect. There are antidepressants, however, that do the opposite. Efexor is the one I have in mind. It's what I've been taking the past couple of years after a decade of taking Prosac. There is no hurry, you won't gain immediately, try Prosac for a while and see if it helps.
hey, gigi, my doc just switched me to prozac from another one. it seems to be working and that is so important to me. i know what it is like to be sad, it is a royal pain in the keister. people say to just be happy, well to hell with them. they don't understand that you just can't do that. so take your meds and try to help another person. this helps me a lot when i can get into helping another person. take care and be gentle with yourself. vick
EXPERIENCE WITHOUT REFLECTION IS HOLLOW
Wishing you much relief with your new meds.. You are not alone in this.. MANY of us here take antidepressants, myself included. Do try to focus on following your diet the best you can. I know it is very hard when depressed, but when you do not follow it, this adds to the depression.
The crying in your room at every song that comes on almost sounds like a pregnant lady..lol. Everything stirs those emotions... you sure you are not???
My heart is with you.
hugs to you!
