Good morning family!  I don't know if I have ever told anyone in this group, but I am a recovering alcoholic, sober for almost 16 years.  In AA many people refer to the fellowship as their "family of choice" as opposed to the one they were "stuck" with when they were born.  I consider Bariatric Buddies my family of choice.  I love coming here everyday and post and read about what's going on in everyone's life.  I try to be encouraging and give back as much as I have gotten from this group.

We just had our first major thunderstorm of the year.  It's still raining and we have more storms on the way for later this morning and this afternoon.  Don and I went to a couple of the greenhouses yesterday and started buying plants for the garden and some hanging flower baskets.  We are not anywhere near done with what we normally plant, but  we have been going with perennials in a lot of areas so that we don't have to keep buying so many flowers every year.  We went with a lot of bulbs and we have tons of flowers blooming right now, but they aren't going to last forever.  I did get one fuschia which is my favorite and I have to get one more for the front porch.

I had a really good day food wise with the exception of my last dosages of multi and calcium(believe it or not I fell asleep at my desk) I got everything in yesterday, including protein which for me is a huge accomplishment.  The scale is still in the dining room so if course I had to get on it.  I am at 200, officially the lowest I've been since surgery.  I have to be careful now and not start trying to starve myself again for weight loss. I hate this flirting with Onderland thing; it's driving me crazy.  I'm going to try and keep busy today so I don't obsess which I've already been doing for the last hour.

Don took me to my doctors appointment on the bike yesterday. After that, we stopped at the grocery store for a few things.  There was a man parked nexted to us looking rather amused about the groceries on a motorcycle until he saw us get everything we bought into the tour pack.  He said he never would have guessed there was that much room in there, but there is.

We got the test results back from Don's CT scan.  He has a cyst one of his kidneys.  They aren't doing anything right now; he has to go back in 3 months for another CT scan.  In a way. that's pretty reassuring.  If they thought it was cancer or something serious I'm sure they would be acting more quickly.  So we are just hanging in there until the next test.

I did something yesterday that I just could never imagine myself doing.  I'm officially a member of AARP.  Apparently 49.5 is close enough to 50 to join.  My first boyfriend died 2 weeks ago.  I hadn't seen him in ages.  He was quite a bit older than me; I was 19, he was 38.  It drove my mother crazy but that was part of the attraction!  LOL!  As you can probably tell, I'm having issues with my age right now, LOL!

Anyway, I am going to open a few windows before we get hit with the storms they are predicting.  It's great to be able to air out the house; we are at 63 degrees right now.

I hope you all have a great day and everybody loses some weight.

Good morning Colleen. I too consider this group my family! One I really care for so much! Ohhh you got to 200... so I am thinking in a day or two you are gonna be jumping for joy big time, telling us that you are indeed in wonderland! I remember when I was there.. It took me forever to breakthrough to the 100's as well..  It's like our bodies are just teasing us with it.

Congrats on having a great day yesterday. and getting in almost all of what you needed to. I have been known to wake up in the middle of the night, remember I forgot my night supplements, and get up to take em..lol. Keep up the great work today! and focus hard on the protein.. meals and LOW carb and water and you are gonna see that onederland any minute! i just feel it in my bones!

Glad they are not concerned with what they found with Don, but do keep us posted when he goes back for his follow-up.

I am not very good at outdoor flower gardening. As a matter of fact it seems all I can do to keep the few house plants I have alive. Don't know why my thumb is so brown...Wish I was better at it all. We moved in here back in November. The home is very nice, and we have 1.25 acres. But the outside never had much done to make it attractive. And here it is semi-desertous, so it ca be a challenge to keep things growing and nice. Definately requires sprinklers of irrigation of some kind. So xeroscape is a biggy here. I have a few projects planned for this spring and summer to get this place looking nicer outdoors. Problem is most of it requires a strong man or two and some equipment. lol.

Enjoy the day before the rain hits!
 Everyone have a great Saturday!
Hugs!

Congratulations on your sobriety.  I consider this my family too.  So happy to be part of this great family.  Prayers for Don were answered, Amen.

When I was 19, I was in college and hanging out with the non-traditional student group.  Some a little older, learned to ride a motorcycle and showed up at my parents home unannounced with a half dozen of my biker friends.  She was not happy with that.  Got the silence treatment for a while after that.

Enjoy the fresh air, drippy here today.  Good sleep weather, going to do just that, another night shift tonight.  Good news, this weekend and into the future Dennis and I are working the same weekend.  This means for the first time in our two years of marriage, we have one weekend a month off together instead of no weekends off together.  Finally we can plan to do some things together.  Hugs
