Last time I thought about doing surgery(2008), I was nowhere near as overwhelmed as I am now. The more I read the more I learn, the good, the bad and the ugly!!! whew... with that being said I also find myself excited..at first I thought good 6mo pre diet cool. NOW I dont wanna wait that long...LOL (weird)  I'm also excited for others.  Everyday I come to OH and I get more and more anxious.  I'll be 57 next month, type 2 diabetes insulin 2x a day, I take pressure meds and chlores meds..

Why are you waiting so long. If you start your journey ie: find a dr, go through all the testing, etc it can take 5 to 6 months. it took me 5 months. During that time I did loose weight. As it worked with my Dr.once your weighed in at the first appt you have to show some effort and by the last appt before the surgery you have to show some weight loss.

Don't wait to long, got healthy.

What has your anxiety increasing?  Is there anything that we can do to help ease some of the anxiety?  How long have you been on insulin for your diabetes.  I am also type 2 diabetic, was on insulin for a few short years, I took my last insulin shot the day before surgery and am proud to now get by on much less oral diabetes meds too.

Given everything, I would do this all over again for the benefits I have had in the last 7 months.  Even the 6 month pre op diet was hard work, but do the work, know that you are very important and you are doing something to improve your life.  I use this OH site for day to day support, vent my feelings, share with others.  Keep posting and we will do our best to walk this path with you.  Hugs

Maybe your anxiety is increasing because you are really serious about it this time, and the reality is setting in?
I too am always excited and happy for all who take control of thier health. I know this surgery gave me the ability to live again, rather than just exist.
best of luck in the 6 month supervised weight loss. I too had to do this. It flew by for me.

thanks everyone for responding, I do believe that the anxiety is because I am dead serious and focused on having the surgery, so much so that I'm calling Dr office Monday to see if they  have any cancellations..I'm so ready to do this
