Hiya, I can not give you any advice on this as yet because I have not had my surgery yet,but from reading other people's posts and talking to some friends who have had the surgery done.. it is tough the first few weeks. It is trial and error trying to find what works for you and what doesn't. Just hang in there and if you are tired of the pea soup... try a different kind of soup first.I think the advice is to only try one type of different food at a time so you can find out what works and what makes you sick but I know you will get replies from the experienced buddies out there

Being tired all the time is normal I think, your body has gone through a traumatic change and it needs time to heal.. 3 weeks is not a long time, give yourself some more time and I bet you will feel better. You can also always call your doc for advice

Hang in there, I am sure it will get better.

Hugs
Davina

sorry u are having problems. when u lose weight hormones are released by the fat cells and this causes depression and all sorts of emotions. this might be one reason u are so sleepy and down. thing will taste funny for a while, just hang in there. be sure and get in your proteins, even if it is a shake, very important. let me know if i can help you. i feel your pain. vick

In addition to what was mentioned above, remember you are losing weight very very rapidly. You are beasically in starvation mode. It will take a bit for your body to adjust. BUT this is likely much worse if you are not having luck getting in much protein and foods.
try mixing vanilla or plain protein into various crystal light flavors. This may make it more tolorable for you. Also you can try to mix some protein into other foods like SF pudding, yogurt, etc.
If you are feeling very nauseated, you may consider calling your doc and checking in with them.
You need the protein..Worse case scenerio... get some no sugar added carnation instant breakfasts, and sip at them.

Gilda, this should pass pretty quickly. Surgery causes your body to need more nutrients to heal, listen and nap when needed. Do your best to get in the liquids, protein and supplements. Going through all this is a big stress on your system. Take is one step at a time, breathe deeply and know that you are doing something grand for yourself. Hugs

Are you getting enough water & as others mentioned Protein drinks in?  I tried the Adkins Protien shakes Vanilla & mocha chocolate are pretty good they are low in sugar & ea drink has 15-17 grams of protein I found at WalMart but I buy online now better price, please make yourself look at your diet, when I was post op dieting I had increased both of these and both worked great, I wasn't getting enough water & protein prior until someone suggested this to me as well, I am only 4 days Post op so far so good! hang in there.!
