Why am I cold?

I am on my pre-op liquid diet and for the last 3 or 4 days I have been so cold. Well most of you are probably wondering.. why is that so strange.  In my case.. it is extremely strange because I am one of those people who think 65 degrees is HOT. At 70 degrees I am already sweating and I am NEVER cold. Except for now:( My hands are freezing and my body is actually shivering. Is this because of the diet you think?? Do (did) you have this as well?
Or could it be nerves.. although I don't feel nervous perse.. more excited than anything.. the body always has its own way of dealing with things. My RNY is only 5 days away:)

Davina, something happens when you lose weight, wish I could put the right words to it right now. But the cold feeling comes with the losing weight. I am colder now than in the past. Used to sweat very easily, over nothing sometimes. Thought it was just hot flashes of early menopause, the flashes stopped abruptly with surgery and I have discovered a whole new wardrobe that includes long sleeves. I would make it through MN winters wearing t-shirts and a light jacket, now needing to wear sweatshirts and a warm jacket during the winter and happy to be less sweaty. Someone will come and share the exact science of this.

How are your doing on getting ready for surgery? Hard to believe just 5 days away. Slip sliding this hinder over to share the losing bench with you. Hugs

Thanks Kathy, I had read some where that people were colder AFTER the surgery but I never thought it would happen with the pre-op diet. I mean I know I lost some weight but it isn't a whole lot. I guess this will be a cheap summer then because I won't have to run the a/c 24/7

I am doing ok.. the liquid diet isn't too bad but I don't think I'll want to see any broth or jello for a longgg time after I get to eat normal again..lol

Hugs
Davina.
