One week out and nervous
Well I am one week away from the big event. I am getting nervous about the surgery but working through it. I am sure it is normal. I have gotten all my food for after the surgery and my protein powders. My son is staying at a friends and that mom is a nurse and will be checking up on me for the week following surgery (I love my hockey moms). My friend Kelly will be with me during the surgery at the hospital. I have finally told all of my family members and so far everyone is supportive. So that is awesome!!! I have lip balm, slippers and jammies. I think I am good to go. If there are any other suggestions please let me know. I will pop back on line when I am able to give an update. Thanks everyone.
If you are on any meds... be sure to take them with you. Sometimes the docs get busy and forget to order them for you while you are in the hospital.
HANG IN THERE LADY! Its gonna be ok. Take a nice hot relaxing bubble bath, light a candle. ahhhh

Oops Patrece has many good ideas, but taking your meds to the hospital is not one of them. All hospitals ask that you not take your own meds while there. The nurses and Dr's need to know exactly what you are taking so that any reactions can be monitored. The Dr may not have you taking a certain medication due to potential interactions with anesthesia or other meds you are now receiving.
Do make sure that you take your Dr's instruction manuel with you as you can double check on questions that you have.
Good luck to you. Can hardly wait for my date to be set.
