I need to get myself organized here

I must admit I have been slacking this past week. I havent been on a scale so dont know my pounds lost, but I have been terribly disorganized and not very conscious of the times on my set schedule.
I have been here at my sisters for a week now, and have a few days more stay before I can go home, for a week then come back to my sisters. (I have apts the first week in the month) Before I come back I have to plan my meals, meds, vitamins, and protein and stick to it.
I havent been logging my meals etc while I am here either. Her computer is very slow and it freezes up on my daily plate site.
I know I have been eating close to the right amounts of things, and eating mostly the right choices, but have been failing in the protein department, but it is mainly because I dont have everything I need here. I tell myself that the first week in May when I come I am going to be better prepaired.
Well... any scheduling or simple meals for a month out would be appreciated very much
 Love n Huggz,
Linda

It's hard to be on a set schedule when you aren't in your own home;it's hard enough to do it when you are home.  For now, invest a couple of bucks in a pretty spiral notebook and use that instead of the computer.  It's really very important to keep track; I have a problem with it and I think I would be losing more weight if I was more diligent about keeping track.  Besides my supplements and the extra vitamins I'm on, I'm also on about 10 different medications and today I discovered that I don't have them set up right and now I'm out of a couple of them and the pharmacy and doctor's office are both closed tomorrow.

I'm realizing this isn't anything to blow off.  Measuring stuff is very important; develop your good habits now.

Yes it is hard to keep up my schedule while not at home.
I spend alot of time here at my sisters, so I need to sit down and make me a copy of my schedule and keep it in my purse
I have a daily planner in my purse that I tried to keep what I have eaten written in that while I am away from home, But I get sidetracked and forget to write things down.
It is much easier when I am at home tho, because I am at my computer desk most of the time. I have my schedule taped to my desk, on an index card right in front of my face, and all my meds and vitamins in the pill organizers are there too.
Everything is handy at home, and I need to figure out some way to create a 'handy' spot at my sisters. lol
I take alot of different meds too, so I understand about keeping/losing track of the refills. I hate to run out of any of my meds.
And I need to remember to pack myself up a box with plenty of the thingd I eat and take with me when I go there too. I have ran out of what I brought, and am having to pick around food that they eat, and I dont like doing that.
It may take me a lil while to make these changes habit, but I will get there eventually.

Linda, so glad to see you posting.  I depend on my med planner, set it up for a week at a time, a strip for morning, noon and evening.  That way I remember to take my supplements and prescription meds too.  Makes life much easier than sitting with several bottles on the counter all the time.  Plus, a quick check of the med strip and I know if I have taken everything.

The notebook idea that Colleen shared sounds great, I slack off in logging foods too.  Needing to get into the habit again for my own benefit.  How are your clothes fitting, noticing that things are getting looser, much better than the scale.  Have a great week.  Hugs

I have three med planners that I keep filled, one for my am and pm meds, one for my vitamins morning noon evening and bedtime slots, and a single planner for Iron.
My clothes are hanging on my body, I look like a bag lady lol, maybe by the time I get back home from my sisters I will fit in some of the ones you sent to me.
Another thing is, I need to invest in some spanx I guess. I noticed that as I lose weight, all my fat is starting to sag downward. ( my mom describes me as Giggley) But I dont really want to put out that much money for spanx then not be able to use it for very long. And I cant find anything at walmart thats big enough to fit. Guess I am going to have to shop around on the 3rd.

I agree on the notepad.  Right now I am keeping a paper journal for my nutritionist.  I think that knowing you have to write stuff down makes you think twice about what you put in your body.  I feel downright embarassed by some of the stuff I've jotted, but I've promised to be honest and accountable to myself and to her.  I think you are doing great and shouldn't be too hard on yourself for being more lenient with yourself, but you're going to have to make the adjustments so you stay on track.  It's your body and your dreams that you are striving towards.

All in all, everything is going to be okay.  =)

I really like My Daily Plate, all I have to do is type the food in search box, go thru the list and click on the food, and enter the ounces, or the serving size, and it automatically gives me the breakdown of calories, protein, fats etc... for the serving size I entered.
I am very conscious about what I put in my mouth reguardless of my logging it or not. And I may take just a taste of something once in a while, that I should not eat, but I have found that just tasing it helps to get rid of any cravings I may have.
As far as the adjustments I need to make, it is a work in progress, but it may take another visit or two before I have it down to actually being organized when away from home.

I agree that you can journal with pen and paper.. and it may even prove more effective, as you may look at it more.
I take my multi vit am and pm calcium am and pm and iron afternoon. I try to start my day with a protein shake within 30 minutes of waking up. This helps rev the metabolism.

If you are interested, you can sign up for my free journaling call that is on wed evening. When you sign up, you get a free pdf copy of a 30 day journal that tracks everything. It can be printed out for your use. Even if you canot make the call, you will get a ink to listen to a recording of it, and the link for the free journal. Anyone who is interested can sign up, but hurry...the callis scheduled for wed. Just go to http://bariatricbuddy.com then click on the classes tab and you will find the sign up page there.

The call is to help assist you in making the best use of the journal. You will be able to read more about it at the link I gave.

Best of luck in getting a better schedule and plan in place for when you travel to your sisters house.

I have made myself a schedule from 'befroe 7 am til 8 pm' and when at home I can stick to it, I just need to make a copy of it and keep it in my purse.
I think your journling deal may sound like a great idea, I may possibly see if I can find someone with a printer who will print it for me. I am just not too good at keeping on writing in it. But I will try it out.
I have never been able to keep a diary or a journal, I may write in a notebook one day, then not pick it up again for months.  (see post above about My Daily Plate)
I need to start out my days with a shake too I guess,
I have never been a breakfast eater, and I have finally gotten myself so I have some yogurt at 8 every morning, then 10 is time for my shake.
I go to the doctor tomarrow for my first post surgery appointment, and I am looking forward to finding how much weight I have lost total from my very first visit with him preop.
I will try to post when I get back tomarrow. But if not, Wednesday I will post.
Yah never can tell about my sisters computer, it is a little stubborn about some commands, this is why I dont post on daily plate while I am here lol.
