A wonderful message

That was a wonderful open letter this morning Patrece.  I have been one of the members who hasn't checked in frequently after my surgery.  I'VE BEEN TOO BUSY LIVING AND LOVING MY NEW LIFE!!!!!  This is the best thing that I could have ever done for myself and myself alone.  I'll admit, it's not for everyone but I've had a practically flawless experience.  [The only drawback is I cannot find a protein drink I love [crave]; I've found ones I'll tolerate but none that have me doing backflips...]
I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be at 4 weeks post-op.  I feel great -- walking, gardening, back to pottery class, working, etc.  If my incisions weren't visible, I'd never know I had surgery.
I'm glad I had this site to use as a research tool.  Everyone's experience is different but that gives us all more information to use to discern what's right for us.
Peace to all,
Lelia

Lelia, thanks for posting...and congratulations on your smooth transition to life on the loser's bench. :)  There are always peaks, and then there are valleys.  Planning for those valleys when you are at the peak can often times be a good strategy.  Than way, when they valleys do come -- even if they are few and far between -- you are ready to deal with them and get out quickly.  I hope that doesn't sound like I am raining on your parade.  My peak...or parade (am I mixing metaphors??  LOL!)...lasted about 5 months.  I am experiencing some valleys now, luckily not deep ones, but they are good reminders that I need to be prepared for anything...I am THAT afraid of slipping back into behaviors that are not in my best self-interest.

Anyway, I wish you continued success for a long, long time!!!  Be well!  And come back and tell us more about your journey.  :)

Leila,
Thank you for taking the time to read the message I sent out, and thank you for reponding to it by coming here to post and update us! I appreciate that very much!
I am so happy to hear that all is going well for you! AND especially that you are "out there" enjoying your life and the weight loss.

I doubt any of us will ever find that protein that makes us do backflips. I consider myself luck when I find ones I tolrate or are ok. Maybe get creative with it, making smoothies from them for a nutrtious breakfast (when you are allowed to have fruit that is), mix some into other foods you are now eating, intead of making the shake out of them, and I like vanilla protein in orange crystal light, tastes like an orange creamsicle if you get it nice and cold!

Glad you are feeling so wonderful. please keep us posted from time to time..ok? Miss seeing you here.
