Frustrated again
I'm having another one of those days. I gained back the 2 pounds I lost and am back to 205 this morning. I have to get rid of the scale, that's all there is to it. I am obsessive about weighing every morning and sometimes I weigh 2 or 3 times a day. I'm completely out of control when it comes to the scale. I'm going to have my husband take it and hide it somewhere for right now and just focus on doing what I am supposed to do in regards to protein, foods, supplements and exercise.
I had to take my mom for a mammogram this morning. She is a breast cancer survivor for 6 years now. There was something on the mammogram that they didn't like so they immediately sent her for an ultrasound. Thank God it was nothing; all is well.
I noticed that some more new people joined the group. It would be great if they introduced themselves.
I currently have about 7 men on top of my house, putting on a new roof. That means that the leak we had will stop and the next project is my office. Right now I have horrible wall paper and a stucco ceiling and although it really needs new carpet, I'll settle for a really nice area rug. Hubby says he's gonna make it happen for me. HURRAY! My poor cat has been freaking out because of all the noise but they are pretty close to being done. It looks good no more leaks in my office.
When I am feeling a little low, it always helps me to write a lis of things I'm grateful for.
I'm grateful that my mom is still cancer free.
I'm grateful for our new roof.
I'm grateful that we are financially secure.
I'm grateful that I have things to keep me busy so I'm not eating all day.
I'm very grateful for this group and all the people in it. I consider it "home."
Love and hugs to all.'

Morning Colleen, check out my response to Patrece's post just a few minutes ago, next post down. We talked about differing kinds of hunger.
I agree, stop it with that scale, it will drive you insane. There will be hour to hour fluctuations in weight as we process what had been put into our systems.
I can just see the cat, too bad for the disturbance to the cat's normal routine. But, so nice to have the roof fixed, leaking done and be able to restore the other damages that resuled from the leak. My critters were out of sorts when we had our roof done a couple of years ago.
I am grateful for the bariatric buddy group, the two local support groups that I attend, for health, for family and pets, for stable living environment, employment, for standing up for my needs and getting RNY, for the success up to this point. The list could go on for days and days. You are right, we need to count our blessings. Bless you too. Hugs

I think you're on the right track about putting away your scale. When I went through a recent stall about a month ago the lovely ladies on this board encouraged me to only weigh myself once a week. I have stayed true to their request and I'm much happier. I don't see the daily up's and down's and I just see the weekly progress.
Life sounds great otherwise! Congratulations and be well.

Thanks for the support everybody. I don't know what my husband did with the scale but it's gone and I'm not going to go looking for it.
I got a giggle out of your post, JMLLE. Some people say that the first robin they see is the first sign of spring; I say it's the first shirtless construction worker I see! LOL!

LOL.. Colleen... I should have forwarded a nice email I got to you... you would have loved it.. ahhh next time.
Colleen.. I think it is something to do with onederland.. My scale teased the heck out of me too for several weeks before it would allow me to cross over into the 100's.. And the closer I got the more I weighed in and the more aggrivated I got. I fianlly did the "step AWAY from the scale" routine on myself. I still weigh in only once a week sometimes less...bu now weighing in more for accountability than looking for a loss. It is gonna come! I stayed at 202 and 203 for weeks.. then one day I got on the scale and was 197.. i was like.. YESSSSSS!!!! hehe... Its right around the corner for you. With the weather getting nicer you'll probably do more outdoors and get a bit of a boost here soon!
I too am so very grateful for this group!

Lost 114 lbs. working on getting rid of a recent 10 lb regain...and WILL succeed!
Good for you for being able to put the scale away for now. I find myself stepping on mine several times a day (for years) but only since surgery do I NOT let myself get frustrated by the ups and downs. It helps that I put my weight on a graph and can see the line going down in the right direction. It records the weight I list each time and I can go back thru the weeks and see just how far I've come.
I'm so glad that your mom's ultrasound was good. That is truly a blessing to be thankful for!
I'm grateful for my family, for my job, for my church family, my BB family, my WLS, my health, and many other blessings in my life. You all and this site mean a lot to me and make a huge difference in my journey. I miss being able to get on daily, but life gets in the way and there is alot going on right now in mine. But I come when I can and always get something from reading all the posts. Thank you all for sharing your ups and downs along this journey.
Hugs,
Rhonda
