Time to get Movin!

OK y'all, I have lost about 7lbs and am pretty sure that it is mainly water weight.  I want to lose fat!  I think that even though I am on a liquid diet I am consuming too much sodium.  The sodium is mainly from the broth or bouillon that I drink.  The beef has about 900mg and the low sodium chicken ain't much better; it has almost 700mg.  I have decided to omit these items from my liquid diet to enhance the water reduction, increase my water intake and I definitely have to increase my protein shakes.

I can do this!  I miss eating though.   must admit that seeing the numbers change on the scale is a blessing.  I need 13 more lbs before the surgeon will submit to insurance.  What I am gonna do however is lose 18 more just because I understand that weight will fluctuate through out the day.  So, to make sure that I have lost the required amount (when I travel 2hrs round trip just to get weighed) I will just lose more.  That sounds good to me.

Also, I need to exercise.  The only thing about that is that I have a pretty bad knee injury.  I am talking being on my feet for more than 15 minutes cause me severe knee and hip pain.  I don't know what I can do to get in physical activity without suffering in pain.  Mind you I do not like to take pain meds (keeping in mind that I am a single parent of a 5yr old.  She is likely to burn the house down if I can not function)  Anyhow, I was thinking maybe Pilate's or yoga or something of that sort but I will have to wait another wk or so so that I can talk to my doctor as to what his recommendations are.

I have a Tiff day tomorrow because at some point my house will be full of kids under the age of 10 for a movie (Frog Princess) and pizza.  I am more worried about there being pizza in the house than I am about all the loud and crazy kids.  Wish me luck on it all y'all or else that little smiley up there is really gonna be me.

You are coming right along! I am certain that all of that 7 lbs is no****er weight. Some likely is, but no way all of it is.
Do you have a good friend that is respectful of your wls decision that could come and keep you compnay during the movie and pizza? A friend that will keep you from indudging in it, no matter how much you can "justify it?" If so make a call and line it up. Sometimes we have to go to legnths to keep ourselves accountable. maybe this would help keep you that way and out of the pizza box.

Water aerobics is nice and gentle on the joints, and takes the weight and pressure off of them. Maybe you could consider this? The yoga and pilates put a suprising amount of stress on the joints, unless of course you were to modify it so you didn't use that knee so much.

Hang in there.. you are doing GREATTTTTT!!!!! Let us know how the movie and protein shake goes for you!

Gigi, you are so much stronger than a box of pizza.  If your willpower is fading, come online to post and share, call a friend, take 6 deep breaths and refocus on the long term goal of becoming healthy.  You want to be around and set a good example for your 5 year old as he/she grows up.

There are many exercises that are designed for people with bad knees, check out chair exercises online.  Work on upperbody strengthening, gentle stretching.  Water aerobics (like Patrece mentioned) is gentle on the joints, walking in water, the water helps to take many pounds off the knees and make the walk easier.

Do not get stressed and pull at your hair.  Have fun with the youngsters.  Try your best to bottle all the energy for personal use at a later time.  I wish I could bottle the excess energy of my neices. lol  Catch up with you later on.  Have fun.  Hugs

You sound so much better than the last time you posted!! I'm very happy for you and KUDOS on the weight loss!
I wouldn't worry so much about exercising just yet. Move as much as you can, any movement helps. I WOULD worry about the pizza. Patrece's idea of recruiting a friend's support it excellent. The best way, however, is to sit yourself down and have a long talk with gigi. Ask gigi how important is that pizza after all? If you think about it, it's just bread with a bit of tomato sauce on it, no big deal. Is it worth having all your efforts so far and your hopes of the future go to waste for a piece of sauce slopped on some bread? I think not. Since you are on a liquid diet, make some of your favorite concoctions and have them easily accessible during the party. Nurse a cup or a glass of something throughout the party and take sips every time you feel the urge to give in to the food. Every time you take a sip, remind yourself why you are doing this.
You will make it, I know!!

Surprisingly I am feeling pretty good about tomorrow.  I have my eyes set on a really nice prize! However, I do know that I have a weakness for pizza...(OMG its my favorite!)  So, I will have my shake ready, some JELLO on stand by and coffee pot of ho****er ready to go for some tea ( by the way the Fresh & Easy "Herbal Spiced tea" is so delicious. It has a natural sweetness to it so, no sugar or sweetener is needed).

But above even the strength that I feel, "I will have someone come to watch me and make sure I behave"  You all are too funny but I really do appreciate it because you come up with great solutions and things that I may not be thinking of.

Thanks so much for the great care you all!

Hi Gigi, I have just read all of your posts and I can relate to alot of your struggles. Just remember one thing, you WILL get thru everything and it WILL all be WORTH IT!!!!! I am sure we all get so frustrated at times, but just keep the faith that you are going to do this for YOURSELF, and it WILL happen!!! (by the way, i love your name(gigi) that's what my grandson calls me) I'm sure that you have a beautiful 5 year old that will keep you motivated each and every(good and bad) day!

It certainly sounds like you have a great awareness of what you need to do on your "wl journey" and I wish you all the luck in staying determined and dedicated to do what's right for you. You will get so much support, love and everything else you need from this fantastic BB support group. They have helped me so much and are truly "caring" about you and what you are going thru each and every day. Without my faith in God and all the support  that I have received, I know I'd still be on the other side of the "losers bench". So, keep the faith, and you WILL be sitting right along beside all of us. GOOD LUCK

Hang in there Gigi, be strong, you are doing great.  By the way, I loved the Frog Princess movie.  It is as much fun for adults as it is for the kids.   Fabulous sound track.  Enjoy the day, enjoy your daughter and her friends.    This is me if I had to spend more than 15 minutes with a houseful of 5 year olds.   LOL.  Have fun.

We must let go of what was if we are going to embrace what is !

Hi Gigi!
Awesome job on the 7 lbs. I agree with the group. Water Aerobics would be the thing.
But if you can't do that, you can do seated excersices. Even a light weight and doing arm excersices would be better than doing nothing at all.

Don't let the pizza win.  Try some type of tomato based soup instead.  You'll be suprised at the different flavors of tomato soup you can get. This way you still have the "tomato" flavor, but not all the other stuff that packs the calories into pizza. I know it's not the most ideal thing, but it's better than gaining!

Just wanted to share another idea. Earl out, when It was the hardest to have to avoid the no-no's I used to try the approach of telling myself, I know exactly what that tastes like, so there really is no reason i need to taste it now. Sometimes this worked.. sometimes it didn't.
Be sure to let us know how it goes for you!
