disapointed and frustrated

So I’m ready for my surgery – really ready. Met today with the doctor, nutritionist and dietician. All pre-op is done and authorizations is complete. Scheduled for 7AM on Tuesday. Got a call late this afternoon. After reviewing the results of my monometry (sp?) I apparently have poor motility (even though I am symptom free) and not a candidate. I am so frustrated and disappointed.

Oh Nancy! I am so so sorry for such a big disappointment. I wonder if you may be a candidate for another form of wls like the band maybe? I don't recognize the test you are referring to... what is it for?

I can only imagine how upset and frustrated you must be. especially after being so very close. I don't even know what to say to help ease your disappointment. Maybe you could request the test to be re-taken? Maybe it was a fluke?

I hurt for you and all you must be feeling right now. Let me know if you need to talk or if I can be here for you in any way.    So very sorry! Hugs to you.

So sorry to hear your news, not sure what the test is you are referring to.  Hope that something else can be worked out for you, keep in contact with your surgeon and pcp and let us know if there is anything we can do to help you.

There is a group for nonsurgical weight loss here too, but please stay with baritric buddies, we want to continue to be part of your support system.  Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Is there anything they can do for the motility?  Thankgoodness that this is not causing you any symptoms.

Sharing your grief with you, HUGS

Thanks for all your support. I also find it interesting since my doctor is the only doctor who even requires this test. I am trying to understand what it all means and why my surgeon won’t do it and so many other surgeons will. Obviously if it is harmful to me, I won’t go ahead but so far, everything I am reading is very controversial.    Does anyone have a NJ doc that they love. I would be interested in speaking with them for their opinion.

I would certainly think it cannot hurt to search for another wls surgeon and see what they have to say. It may take a bit to go through the hoops again...but who knows? It may be the answer. Please keep us posted.
Can you tell me what this test was looking for? I just don't know what it is..

Hugs
