Does anyone have any recipes I can use at this stage of my recover?
Week 5
I am to the point that I am eating the same thing over and over with just a little twist here and there.

So far I stick with cottage cheese (getting really old) shredded chicken in can with either lt mayo or low sugar spaghetti sauce, some scrambled egg (can only handle so much), and mashed potatoes.

I can't stand pureed soup.. burned out on that during my pre-op diet..

Try not to eat too many mashed potatoes especially if they are something that you really induldged in pre-op. It could cause cravings for more carbs. So I am guesseing you are in the soft and pureed phase?
Here are some things I ate then:
Yogurt
refried beans with a touch of salsa mixed in, topped with shredded cheddar...Yummy!
tuna
mashed banana

It is hard at this stage getting the variety we like. You can take many foods and puree them, just try to avoid too many carb laden foods and focus on protein.
Best of luck.. hopefully people will reply with even more ideas.

I only do the mashed potatoe thing when I am desperate.
I can't stand yogurt and I burned out on refried beans about a week ago..

I will keep the banana in mind though!

Thanks Patrece!

Hi..I have also enjoyed the CarbMaster yogurts from Krogers.  They have 12g protein and I add a 1/2 scoop of protein.
When you get ready to eat the real food....GO SLOW!  I just went there and wow....I was so excited to eat, that I ate too fast.

Another thing to try is Chili from Wendy's.  You can eat about 1/2 of a small. I just put it in the blender with a quick turn and it was good.  It helps to get the flavor we are looking for.

Have you really lost over 70 lbs?  Is that just since surgery? or did you lose some before?

I had my surgery the week before you and I am down 44lbs :)

I think I tried meatloaf during this soft stage.  I still enjoy the cottage cheese and a little fruit, yogurts and an occassional protein drink.  Try egg salad, protein fortified sugar free pudding (add some protein powder to the pudding), thin sliced deli meats, just chew really well.  Keish(spelling?) sounds good too.
