Check in for Wednesday 4-21
Good morning everyone.
I kind of feel like I "talk" too much or in this case, post too much, but I always feel like this is a good place to come when I want to ramble, plus when I post early in the day, I've got something I can be held accountable to.
Today is going to be a load of housework and sewing. I have to clean up the basement and rearrange everything; my husband bought a Wii with 2 different Wii fit pads, controllers, etc., and they are all over the place down there. He has almost literally completely taken over my sewing area. I'm making a stand today. Some stuff has to go and get rearranged so I can get back to work.
Last night, I was coming downstairs from the bedroom and missed the last step. When I came down, , my toes were curled under and I'm pretty sure I broke one. I know there isn't anything they can do to fix it: I'll just have to ride it out. At least I can walk without it hurting, it only hurts when I curl my toes. Hopefully it won't take too long to heal; it is right now a beautiful shade of purple. I'm not up for water aerobics today but hopefully puttin on a shoe won't be a problem and I can go bike riding.
I'm so glad this group is here. It gives me a place to come and just babble about my life and my surgery.
Anyway, laundry, dishes, and sewing await. I'm off.
Love to all,
Colleen

Good morning Colleen. I'm with you, a day of cleaning a few floors, a couple of bathrooms and overall vacuuming. the first real estate agent will be over Friday, then one on Saturday and one on Monday. Hopefully we will pick one from this group and the house will be on sale by May 1.
At least that is the goal.
Nothing to eat or drink after midnight tonight. My EGD is at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. The rest of the day will be spent with DH, probably out at our new lot, either sitting in a chair reading and watching him mow (if the anesthesia I have) prevents me from doing the mowing. I don't think it will. If I can mow, he can rototill the garden and we can get ready to get all those wonderful vegetables planted. I love homegrown vegetables. Carrots, squash, cucumbers, green beans, peas, tomotoes and corn. Yum Yum, even though servings will be small and first it will be protein, protein, protein. Fresh, homegrown veggies just taste so good.
You might try taping a couple of your toes together, That will at least give them some support if they are broken. Just a thought. that is what they did on Survivor when Ruport broke his toe or toes. LOL, not laughing at your broken toes, just laughing at myself for getting and giving medical advice from watching Survior.
Well, must stop running off at the mouth and get busy.
Hope everyone has a great day. The sun is out and dust bunnies are calling my name.

Colleen, I am so glad to see your daily posts. You can keep this up. I am here for support. Please let your toes heal. I could give you grief about being a clutz, but I am one as well. Take care of your digits. I am off for a session of beauty sleep, hoping for the best of results from a long nap. What do you think, will I wake up georgous? Probably just a good case of bed head, lol.
Toodles till later on. Hugs

Collen..Never do you talk or share too much! I love it when I come on and see your posts. Wish more people would do this. You are a lovely example of making use of your resources for support!
Hoping your toe feels better very soon. Try soaking the toes in ice water.. cold I know, but will help with any swelling. Also not a bad idea to support it by taping it to another toe. This will help keep it from bending. It sounds like it is a beautiful color, but not exactly where you'd like to see that color and how huh?
I have to take paul to class this morning. While he is in class gotta swing by the sewing shop and schedule the appt for them to come and give me some of my free lessons on my new embrouidery machine. I have a friend that works at a utility company, and they are going to give me their embroidery jobs, so I want to be sure I can do them well. My machine is new and so far have only done some embroidery work making lacey freestanding bookmarks. They are beautifullll!!! I have a program I got with my purchase that allows me to take most any image and turn it into an embroidery pattern.. so I can embroider almost anything for anyone. I LOVE it!
Glad to hear you are putting your foot down and reclaiming your sewing space. We all must have things that are for us and that we enjoy, and to have it taken from us stinks! You go girl!!!
I got home from my retreat to find a big mess on the floors. It rained while I was away, and there are muddy dog prints and chunks of dried up mud all over the place. I was NOT a happy camper. I got the worst of it done, but need to go through and do some thorough vaccuming and sweeping and mopping, along with lots of other neglected duties while I was gone.
Seems funny...but while I was away at my wls retreat I gained 3 lbs! Am hoping most of it is water weight, as I do tend to retain fluid when I travel. I need to get a plan in place to begin an exercise regime, now that I am more healed from my plastics. Still tender through the abdominal area (muscles), but think it is time to try some low impact stuff other than just walking.
Have a great day! Take it easy on that toe!
Hugs!!

Lost 114 lbs. working on getting rid of a recent 10 lb regain...and WILL succeed!
Hi Colleen, I always enjoy your posts and it's agreat idea to use them to hold yourself accountable. Sorry to hear about your toe, hopefully it will feel lots better soon. I really need to work on learning to come to an understanding about what made me overweight and unhappy with myself most of my life. I guess that will mean that I need to conjure up the old thoughts and feelings, attitudes and beliefs that I have always used in the past so I can truly make good lifelong changes. Good luck to you.
