Wondering
Mostly I come to this group because you are all so supportive but on occasion I go to the state forum, which is where I just was. Anyway, there is someone that also goes to that forum and had RNY by the same surgeon that I am having. She has posted some not so nice stuff regarding her surgery and it has me scared. I love my doc and his staff and the team of people that I have and will be working with after my surgery. It does sound like maybe she has not been following the guidelines and kind of admits that in some of her posts. Especially lately she has said "it is a tool afterall". Anyway, just kind of venting here. I am on day 2 of my liquid diet and feeling pretty good. Just hate to see that kind of info out there when I am right around the corner to have my surgery. Thanks for listening.
I know what you mean.. It seems like these types of comments "pop up" when you get approved. I think we just look for them more!
I discussed all my worries with my surgeon especially throwing up.. and most of the time (not all) is because people don't follow the program. I don't see how you would put yourself through all this and not follow it.. but to each his/her own.
I trust my surgeon to guide me in the right direction. I am a month out (still a newbie!) but haven't had to many issues. Mostly "potty" issues, but at first i was afraid to eat and surgeon had to tell me to step it up (at my 2 week post op). I still don't eat much, but it's better than it was.
It is a tool, but you have to work it right..
Stick to the program about what types of things to eat and when to give yourself the best possible outcome.
Have a Great Day!

You will be as successful as you want to be. Congratulations on your choice!!! Yes, some people like to blame others if things don't go well, but we have so much to say about how things go.
I think it is so important that you feel comfortable as you do with your doctor. Trust is so important. If you follow their directions and communicate any concerns with them, you will be fine. Great job on posting your concerns.
There are a lot of people who have felt some doubt, it is natural. Pick up some buddies here to help you and hang on for a ride!!!!

Cindy, it is amazing how the bad seems to travel farther and quicker than the good news. Go with the security that you know and trust your surgical team. The surgery is a tool, and if used properly, by following the plan set up by your surgeon it will take you to great losing.
I am glad that you felt safe to come vent and share. That is what we are here for. The others have posted great replies, hard to top what they have said. Hang in there, hugs
