I have a quick question ...

I forgot to call my doctor/ Nut. today to get an answer, so I thought I'd ask here:

Tomorrow I am going to a wedding and I was wondering would it be OK to have a glass of wine? I am scared to drink any other alcohol. I'm sure it is way to early (3 months post op) but wonder if wine is ok..

What do you think? Have any of you tried alcohol this early out? So how in my head I don't think I am gonna try anything at all, but I wonder.

hope everyone had a good day, I am still on cloud 9 after stepping on the scale this morning for it to FINALLY read under 200lbs :-) .. I went to the gym to celebrate and told my trainer of my good work. I'm so happy and proud of myself!!!

I am so proud of you.  I don't drink myself, but i think i would pass on the wine.  Some of the others might give you some advice.  Take care.  Again i am so proud of you.

Miss, if your question was the sip that goes with communion, no problem.  More than a sip, not sure.  You are absorbing much differently now.  The wine may affect you differently and cloud your judgement.  This may lead to failing to judge the bites you take, and other judgement calls.  Most surgeon's recommend waiting much longer.  I do not drink at all, finding that I can get "high" on life in general.

Do enjoy the wedding and reception.  Take a pic of yourself all dressed to the nines and post to share.  Congrats on dropping into onderland.  Great accomplishment.  Hugs

Most docs discourage drinking at all, due to cross addiction, but most say if you MUST try a drink, to wait until a year out from surgery to do so, and at that just a couple of sips. My advice is stay clear of it. Just let yourself feel the high of the weightloss success and enjoy everything going on.

Congrats on onederland!!!! what an awesome milestone! Yeayyyyyyyy

Melissa - congratulations on getting under 200!!! I can't wait to reach that goal myself. It has been more than 24 years, that's more than 1/2 my life!!! I can't really imagine being that weight, but I'm sure having fun trying.
