Kind of freaking out

It ha**** me, 3 weeks from today my surgery will be over and I will be well into the first day of my new & healthier life.  Very excited but very nervous.  I know this is normal from what I have read & heard.  It just helps for me to put it down somewhere and out of my mind.  I am totally throwing myself in my work and in getting everything in place for the hospital and at home for when I get back after the surgery.  That is all I needed to say for now.  Thanks for letting me share.  :)

Wow, do I know that feeling. I just returned to work after being off for my surgery. I almost pulled out at the last minute... Literally, they were putting the iv in and all I could think of was.. do I really want to do this.. it's not to late!

But here I am on the otherside and believe me, I made a mole hill into a mountain.
Not that it's been a joy ride, but you have to be realistic that you will have times when you feel bad and times when you feel great. BUT the bad days will slowly fade and your new body will be a greater joy!

What an opportunity for you to journal away your nervousness and at the same time record a milestone in your life.  I wish I was that way.  Keep sharing your thought and feelings.  Ask questions, get buddies.  You will do fine.

It has been almost 7 months for me and I still recall that mix of nerves, anticipation, excitement, fear, and any other emotion that you can come up with all rolled into one emotion.  Take some slow deep breaths, relax your shoulders and know that you are doing something that will have a postive impact on your life.  Keep writing down thoughts and feelings.  It will be nice to look back some day and review this.  You are worth the effort.  Hang in there and come vent all you need to, we are here for your support.  Hugs

Thanks everyone for your responses.  You know I did start journaling once I got closer to having all the requirements completed and was waiting for approval.  I hope to look back on it and smile.  I am planning on taking my journal to the hospital with me as well and for sure as I am learning to deal with the new me, the new meals and all.  Thanks again everyone.

Hey Cindy! Just wanted to add some positive vibes from my direction! The key is to always stay informed and educated as much as you can. You then feel more in control when you aren't feeling quite so lost. That helped me alot.
You are gonna do great! Hang in there lady!

You'll be on the losers bench before you know it Cindy, those 3 weeks will fly by and it'll all be worth all the feelings you're dealing with right now. Post often, start a blog, anything to get those feelings out where you can deal with them. I'm wishing you all the best, and praying for smooth sailing thru your surgery and recovery.
