what's up doc?

today is sunday and a day many plan on the upcoming week.  i have to call my doc and make an appointment (per his request) about some labs i took.  wish me luck. hope i can get in tomorrow.

i don't have any more art classes until the end of april, i will miss them. i will enjoy not having to get out.  i am pretty much a home body.

the other day i bought some pajama bottoms to wear as light weight pants for the summer.  i have lost so much weight that i have wrinkles on my legs all the way from top to the ankles and i don't really want to wear shorts.  the bottoms are real colorful and i got some tops to match that are pajama tops, maybe nobody will notice.  i even got them really big so they would be loose and airy.

we will be working on our garden this week, if it quits raining so we can get caleb to come over and do some more rotto tilling.  he did it the other week but my hubby didn't fill it up enough with garden soil.  good thing, because when we got the plants we need to put more sand in it and peat moss.  i'll post a picture of it after we get it all planted. we have a diagram and everything about which plants go where.  wish us luck.

so how are all u guys doing.  are you doing what you need to be doing?  if u are having surgery, see about getting an angel to help post your progress on the site here and to help you with personal stuff u don't want to post.  i had one and she helped me a lot. gave me encouragement and concern.   take care, eat plenty of fiber.

EXPERIENCE WITHOUT REFLECTION IS HOLLOW

Today is Palm Sunday for us and next week is the Week of Passion, leading, of course, to Easter next Sunday. I'm not very religious, but Easter is a huge holiday in Greece, bigger than Christmas even. Although Lent runs for 40 days, the only time I ever fast is during the Week of the Passion - it just doesn't feel right eating meat during these days. Call it a childhood leftover. Also, the Easter lamb on Easter Sunday tastes MUCH better when you haven't eaten animal products for a week! Unfortunately this year I don't see how I can change to Vegan for a week. I seem to have an intolerance for legumes and protein drinks are whey, i.e.: milk. Fruits and vegetables don't sit well with me yet. Standard staples, such as halvah are packed with sugar and calories. Anyway, these have been my thoughts today - a bit regretful because this is still another holiday that is being ruined by WLS - but not overly so since I know I'm doing it for my health.

This year, adjust your habits due to the recent surgery.  Next year, you will be healed and able to adjust to the meatless week easier.  Do what you need to for your current health needs.  Hugs

Happy Sunday Vick, I slept in this am.  Had the bed to myself, Dennis is on night shift this weekend and I am off.  Even the critters left me alone.  It was wonderful.

I am so glad that you are Linda's angel.

I was up to the gym last evening, too drippy outdoors for a good dog walk.  Avoiding ode de wet dog, yuk yuk yuk.  I walked on the treadmill, varying the incline to work harder 60 seconds at a time.  Stayed on for 60 minutes and burned 700 calories.  Sweat to my waist in the back of my shirt.  I took in about 20 oz of water during the exercise.  My legs feel good, even after the workout.  I can feel some definition in the leg muscles under the subcutaneous fat (under the skin fat).  I can shift the fat partway around my leg with the loose skin.  Too bad I can't just slide the fat on off like a pair of pantyhose.

I am working on a sewng project this afternoon.  Layering together quilts that I had started earlier.  Pics to follow some time soon.  Have a great day, hugs.

I don't have much planned for today. Just to make it through the day with my sanity intact! lol. I have had a rough few days mood wise, and today is no better. Sometimes the pressure in life just catches up to us i suppose. Took a nap earlier, and am feeling about ready to do a repeat performance. Sometimes taking care of ourselves can mean listening to our bodies when they tell us we need to rest, even if it is just to find some peace of mind. (as long as we don't sleep our lives away that is!) So today, I plan to honor my signals and just listen to what my body is requesting of me.

The rest of you... Have a most wonderful day today, doing whatever it is you are going to do, and try to enjoy it!

Vick.. best of luck with that garden! I plan on some tomato plants this year, but thats it as far as produce. I'm thrilled when i am successful at keeping the tomato plants alive in this semidesertous place I call home.
Hugs!
