Bariatric Buddy
OK everyone.. I really need your help!
I want to make sure, that as I design the content of the coahing classes, I do not leave out any of the most important things to the people who are participating.. which are people just like us!
So if you woulod all PLEASE be so kind as to post back with a list of your TOP challenges and what you would want to see covered if you were in these group coaching calls, I would very much appreciate it. be as detailed as you'd like to be. this will really help me to best serve everyone.
For any of you who contribute, i am very happy to offer you a free month in this group coaching program, when it rolls out! This will include a free success tracking journal and applicable handouts and worksheets.
Thanks in advance to all who can assist me in this!
Hugs!

Lost 114 lbs. working on getting rid of a recent 10 lb regain...and WILL succeed!
1. Planning meals and meal times that meet the following criteria: a) are made up of nutritionally "allowed" foods, b)are palatable to me and c)are spaced correctly so that don't starve OR graze.
2. Keeping off the scale. I neurotically want to weigh myself every day, and my mood the rest of the day is often dependent on the results of that weighing.
3. Fatigue. This is compounded by my MS, of course, but finding the energy and the state of mind that will allow me to begin an exercise regimen has been impossible thus far.
I'm sure there are more, but these 3 stand out as my most important challenges. Hope I have helped.

1. handling the stress of post operative complications, both physically and mentally. my complications have run the gambit of vomitting, the runs, hernia, losing too much weight.
2. trying to gain some of my weight back and reconciling this to the diet we have been trained to follow. it is impossible to gain weight and eat llike we are told to, at least for me.
3. emotional downs that accompanied the problems and fatigue.
hope this helps. vick
EXPERIENCE WITHOUT REFLECTION IS HOLLOW
The confusion about moving from soft foods to the new "normal" diet. I just posted how I'm kinda scared to move on now, very confusing for me and I'm scared.
Also, I think dealing with getting in enough protein and water and how hard it really is.
Dealing with loved ones that just have no idea what a carb is, and you have met him Patrece.
Falling back into old habits, feeding stress.
Dealing with cravings.
Balance of life, home, work and personal time.
I am sure that the list could go on endlessly and will refrain from more at this time.

I am keeping a list of who shared with me, so i can offer you all the chance to participate free when it launches.

I think my biggest two obstacles are that 1) I forget on a regular basis that I can't eat the way I used to, including certain foods, not just amounts and 2) although we do a pretty good job of it here in this group, I don't think people really realize the importance of support and using the group. I also think that means getting involved when things are good as well as not so good. I do belong to another group who has a member that has never once written in response to a person's cry for help but 'bellyaches" if her troubles aren't addressed immediately.
Anyway, those are my thoughts on the subject.
Colleen
Also i think a lot of people do not take advantage of reaching out for support enough. It is hard for some to reach out, but thats what a support group is all about.
