I finally went to my appointment yesterday and got my appointment for surgery.  It is May 4th.  We are now waiting for the approval from the insurance but they did not seem to think it would be an issue.  I go in at 6AM for a DVT filter (which I thought was very cool) then 8:30 sharp under the scope.  Wooohooo I am so excited.  I had to cancel some Mother's Day camping plans but I don't really care.  Have a great weekend!!!!

we will be having our surgery the same day.  I wonder how soon we will be able to start swimming afterwards.  Probably once the incisions have healed.  I am not going to need a filter.  My EGD is scheduled for the 22nd.   My PCP drew blood yesterday to check my iron levels and my A1C.  My new PCP is wonderful and a real proponent of WLS and has other patients who have succeeded very well and knows how to care for them.  A hugh weight off of my mind.

I am really excited for you.  I hope the time passes quickly for both of us.   Yes, I am cheating this morning, I didn't go swimming.  There is a dusting of snow on the ground (no excuse) and I have a hair appointment in an hour.

Again, wonderful, wonderful, wonderful.

YEAYYYYYY!!!!!!  So happy for you! It'll be here before ya know it!
I had laproscopic RNY, and was released to swim at 2 weeks out. (I had no open areas from surgery) As soon as all open areas re healed over, my surgeon allowed us to begin getting into a pool, with the caution of DO NOT over do it. My first time was a beginners level water aerobics clas, and I did find I had to not do some of the things, as it was a bit much doing certain things. My suggstion is start off slowly and at the first sign of fatigue or discomfort, call it quits for that day.

Will keep you BOTH in my thoughts and prayers for a smooth surgery and recovery, and amazing success in your wls journey!
