Surgery tomorrow [25th]; awesome support

You know I appreciate all the positive support I've received from you guys.  You also know that I've written here about some of the ignorant people I've run across who make silly comments about this procedure.

I have to give equal time to the other supporters in my life.  I'm surrounded by men -- my husband and my son -- but I also work in a male dominated company.  We only have 6 women out of over 100 employees.  You would think that they would either not care or be oblivious to my upcoming surgery.  I've discovered that gossip spreads just as rapidly with men as is reported to travel among women.

The president of the company cornered me yesterday to ask caring questions about my surgery.  He spoke of how he knew I had researched it and how proud he was that I had decided to take this step.  He also wants to have an indepth conversation post-procedure -- he's concerned about a loved one and wants more information.

My son, an EMT/firefighter, but a typical 25 year old, offered his positive feedback by sharing with me about some friends who've succeeded at this.  He will be there when I need him and will help his dad through this transition also.

I just got a hug and a "good luck" from a guy in our shop along with many other "best wishes" from these rough and tumble hardheads.

Most of all, my dear husband Clint, has listened to me ramble on and on and on about this and has smiled and nodded.  I love him so much.

It just feels so good to have the support of so many people.  I hope I can repay the kindness.

Giddy with anticipation,

L.

I think it is awesome that you have such wonderful support. We all encounter the naysayers, but with support like this.. it makes it so much easier to feel good about the journey we are embarking on.

Wishing you all the best in this new chapter of life. And hoping everything goes as beautifully for you as Kim wished for you above! (she put i so eloquently). You are in my thoughts and prayers! Please be sure to update us on how everything is with you as soon as you are able!

Hugs!
Can't wait to have you on this never ending losers bench withus!

Lelia, so nice to hear feedback.  Wishing you all the best, I have to agree with Patrece, Kim phrased the well wishes better than I do.  Nice to know that the men in your life, all of them, support you too.  Write and share about your experience when you feel up to sharing.  Hugs.
