Bariatric Buddy
Tuesday's thoughts and babbles
Good afternoon Bariatric buddy group. How are you doing so far on this weeks goal? Mine is to use the Wii twice, so far, not started, then the week is still young.
I did get in 13286 steps on the ol' pedometer yesterday. As I was getting back from one of the dog walks, heard a neighbor who was working on his house say "How's my gorgeous girl doing?" Now for starters, he did not see us (dogs and I) approach our home, he was standing on the back step and looking in his house. But I am bashful, lol, and put my hand on the back of my hair and replied "doin' fine". We both laughed, he was talking to his 4 year old, she was watching the repairs taking place from inside the house. Shared this with Dennis a couple of minutes later, he laughed with me. I am glad for neighbors and a husband with a sense of humor.
I spent the morning sleeping after working my night shift. Writing a brief note here and putting on my socks and shoes to head out and enjoy the peaks of sunshine that are streaming through the blinds. I think I just may find a couple of dogs that are interested in joining me for a walk. their heads pop up when they see activity that looks like outside. Dennis is at work right now. I may entice him to walk with us again later after he gets off work. I know the dogs will not let on that they already had a walk. Unsure about middle of the afternoon plans, hopefully a bit of time with the sewing machine. And the second half of my sleep after supper to prep for another night shift.
What sounds good to cook, I run out of good ideas. Easy ideas always welcome. I think I want to make potato soup for Dennis, adding some of the italian meatballs to my bit, hummmmm, now that is an idea. I could even add some protein powder to up the protein, now that's an even better thought. Definitely not a time for vanilla or chocolate protein, yuk. I will let you know how this turns out. Still open for ideas for the rest of the week.
Have a great day everyone. Hugs

Well the week is starting slow for me. Didn't get in my swim yesterday and the Women on Weights program has this week off and starts again next Tuesday. Did run a lot of errands yesterday and got my annual pap out of the way. It's been rainy and chilly but the sun just came out this afteroon about 2:00. I will go back downstairs and do more laundry. Will beat myself out of bed in the morning and go and swim laps.
Well here I am up in the wee hours of the next morning. Kathy.. i never saw this post, seems you posted at the same time I posted my good morning post.
My goal for Tuesday was to be the best support group leader i could be at my live meeting tonight. We had a really good meeting. Its funny I was asked 3 questions that I could not have answered yesterday, but because I was researching earlier, I was able to answer them.. how kewl was that?!
Tomorrow its off for grocery shopping. i am out of all my favorites, and all the easy choices.
Kathy I'll have to think on that quick and easy thing. One thing I do often is to cook extra boneless skinless chicken breasts, then use some for making salads, or as a part of a meal that I want quick to make, like a nice chicken veggie dish, or even an omlette with some in it. BUT mostly I use it for salad with some hard boiled egg and just a touch of reduced fat shredded cheese added in for good measure.

Lost 114 lbs. working on getting rid of a recent 10 lb regain...and WILL succeed!
I made several dishes out of a bag of precooked meatballs, now tired of the meatballs. There is so much in any one package, thank goodness I am cooking for two. Made potato soup, with extra powdered milk and chopped up meatballs (same package as above). Dennis asked for a repeat performance of the soup. Told him that the leftovers in the bowl in the fridge were his. Made him smile. I actually got compliments on a couple of dishes that I made over the last couple of days. Nice to hear that he appreciates me.

Hi Kathy, ALL
I was having a heck of a time on the chat group Tue, but I think I am getting the hang of it. My goal was to wean off my personal trainer. I am currently working out 5-6a M-F (since Nov)(surg date postponed to 5/4). I started out with her 4 days a week, then went to 3 times a week, now 2 times a week. She wants to stay with me thru surg. So I may just keep her 2 days a week at least for now. I did change up my work out though....I now swim on M&F, amazingly enough I am enjoying it, even order goggles and nose clip! I get bored doing the same old thing...today I tried Step Aerobics, I couldn't hang...had to leave.
Kathy, last night we had lean smoked pork chops and creamed spinich, maybe that will sound good or chicken fajetas (sp?) without the tortillas. I marinate chicken tenders in 1/2, 1/2 Soy & Worstershire Sauce or 1-8 hr.
Hugs, Jane.

Sounds good Jane, tucking this away for one of those 'what to eat days', they seem to happen every once in a while. always the standby of cottage cheese, I eat that everyday, getting to need some variety.
You are right to change up exercise, keeps the body wondering what next????
Thanks
