Ohhh what a rough beginning! If only that med change had been done much sooner! Seems like there is always that ONE nurse, that you'd rather knock down that look at.. recovery rooms are definately not the place for them.. When recovering, you really need someone attentive and caring. I don't blame you at all for wanting to send that note to the hospital.
Glad all is well now, that he got you off the narcotics. Keep on keeping on! (Yep that 4 lbs was fluids and air!) Don't worry, won't be around long at all! Make sure you sip sip sip and take little walks to prevent clots...okay? Listen to your body and rest as needed.
Congrats on your arrival to the losers bench!
Hugs!

Lost 114 lbs. working on getting rid of a recent 10 lb regain...and WILL succeed!
Your first 24 hours sounds a little like mine. I too had extreme nausea and threw up blood, which scared me and hubby to death at 3:00 in the morning til the nurse called the doc and he said not to worry, it was okay. I stayed extremly nauseated til I stopped using the morphine. everytime I hit that button, I felt sicker and sicker. Even the anti-nausea meds they were giving me made me feel sicker. Once I got off everything, I felt much better the 2nd day. Good luck with everything - the fun part really begins now.
