Time off of work for surgery
I am very fortunate that I am able to take Short Term Disability for my surgery. What is the recommended amount of time YOU would suggest. My doctor has said he had people go back after 2 weeks and regret it. If you could do it again and have at least 6 weeks off would you take the full 6 weeks? Thanks everyone Happy Weekend!!!
If you are able to get the short term disability, and take a full 6 weeks, I STRONGLY encourage you to do so! There's a few reasons why:
1. You wil still be a bit sore for the first few weeks, and it is best to allow your body adequate healing time.
2. You will tire easily, and need to be able to rest when your body says it needs it. We do 90% of our healing only during periods of rest.
3. There is going to be a lot to get used to, physically, emotionally, nutritionally, etc. It will serve you well to have this time to adjust and learn and adapt to all of these changes.
This is only my opinion, but I really do believe it would be best if you can take the full 6 weeks. Who knows, you may even find a grat book, crafting project, or another activity that you will enjoy and have a little time to spend with it as you are healing!
