Just Checking In
Just wanted to say hey to everyone. Last month was a really tough one for our family. My sister was in a terrible head on collision with a truck. The car took the brunt of the crash but she is off her feet for 12 weeks with a broken back and right foot.. I went to help out with the kids (taxi aunt) which threw my eating schedule (3 meals a day) way out of wack. After that I drove to NM with my friend to move my son's apartment due to him being sent for active duty in the Air Force. We also went to Vegas since we were just 8 hours away. So needles to say I had gained 3 pounds that month and my Dr was so great. He said sometimes you have to go with what life throws you. He asked if I had started my exercise program. I told him I had not because of the months events. He said he understood but I needed to put myself first. This is something that I really never do. But I did start. I joined the Y and started swimming 3 days a week. I was disappointed when I could not swim 2 laps without feeling like I had run up a hill. This week was my 4th swim and I was able to swim 8 laps without stopping and I swam a total of 66 laps in 1 hour. That is 1 mile and a few extra. I am so happy and cannot wait to get back into the pool. I am also using some muscles I have not used since I swam in high school LOL. I know this is allot but I just wanted to share. I also have my 2nd sleep study to get fitted for a cpap machine. Who knew that breathing at night was so important. 6th doctor appointment is March 25th I should be able to have surgery scheduled shortly after that.
